Role of adipose tissue remodeling in diabetic heart disease

Adipose tissue produces a wide range of adipocytokines with a diverse range of metabolic functions. In metabolic disease states, a shift between anti-inflammatory and proinflammatory adipocytokines occurs, with this imbalance predisposing to chronic, low-grade inflammation that contributes to the development of cardiovascular disease. In this chapter, we have explore the role of adipose tissue remodeling in diabetic heart disease.
