Differentiation of Spinal Myxopapillary Ependymoma and Schwannoma Using Magnetic Resonance Imaging

Purpose or Learning Objective: Spinal myxopapillary ependymoma is a rare but clinically distinct intradural extramedullary tumor that can share imaging features with a schwannoma. This retrospective study examined the diagnostic ability of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to differentiate between the two masses because making the distinct preoperatively can have a significant impact on treatment and prognoses.
