Coordination compounds of manganese, technetium and rhenium

Photochemical and photophysical properties of coordination compounds make them useful in varied fields such as imaging, sensing, catalysis, photodynamic therapy, etc. Group 7 contains elements manganese, technetium and rhenium. Out of these, photochemical behavior of technetium has not been much explored because of its radioactive nature. Its complexes are also not much stable for study, but the coordination compounds of manganese and rhenium have been studied in details. The complexes of manganese and rhenium have found numerous applications and these have been discussed in this chapter.
