Change in self-perceived vaccine confidence in France after the COVID-19 vaccination campaign: A cross-sectional survey in the French general population

•After COVID-19 vaccination campaign, 30% of the French population reported a decline in their vaccine confidence.•Among the vaccinated French, 64% felt coerced to get COVID-19 vaccine.•Individuals who felt coerced to get COVID-19 vaccine were more prone to report a decline in their vaccine confidence.•Decline in vaccine confidence was associated with younger age, lack of confidence in health authorities, adherence to conspiracy theories, and low perception of vaccination as a collective responsibility.
