摘要
The first description of a patient with poor ovarian response (POR) was nearly 40 years ago in 1983 [1]. However, since then the therapeutic armamentarium available to clinicians to manage this condition remains contentious, with the evidence underpinning many of them being derived from poor-quality studies. Furthermore, a multitude of definitions and classifications for POR has exacerbated this situation. This chapter has three aims—first, to highlight and understand the current important classifications for POR; second, to evaluate the evidence behind different stimulation protocols and treatment adjuvants that have been proposed in the management of these challenging patients; and finally, to understand the challenges in conducting and evaluating research related to POR.
