Formation and migration of soluble ions in condensable particulate matter in limestone-gypsum wet flue gas desulfurization system

•The formation and migration of soluble ions in CPM are investigated.•Evaporation of volatile matter in the desulfurization solution produces is a contributing factor to the presence of CPM.•The influence of operating parameters on the emissions of CPM is investigated.•Appropriately lowering the temperature of the desulfurization solution can effectively inhibit the generation of CPM.
