A Compound Control Strategy of Micro-DC Motor Based on Trapezoidal Velocity Profile and Feedforward Control

In the paper, we propose a compound control strategy to improve the dynamic performance of position response for a micro-DC motor control system. The traditional three-loop control architecture used for point-to-point motion control will slow down the response speed. To overcome the limitation, we design a double-loop system with the position loop and analog current loop (PC) that is implemented by the current hysteresis regulation circuit. Additionally, we apply the trapezoidal velocity profile (TVP) to control the motor speed and reduce the process power consumption, and apply the feedforward (FF) control to enhance the tracking performance during the control process. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed strategy optimizes the dynamic response, as well as the tracking performance.
