Asymmetric Metasurface Couplers for Silicon Photonic Integrated Circuits

We present the design and experimental characterizations of asymmetric metasurface-based couplers that are compatible with Si CMOS foundry processes for photonic integrated circuits. The devices we demonstrate support wavelength-selective quasi-bound waves in Si ridge waveguides.
