•[68Ga]Ga-FAPI PET demonstrates superiority over [18F]FDG PET in the detection of lymph node metastases in various cancers, based on a comprehensive systematic review and meta-analysis.•No statistically significant difference is observed between [68Ga]Ga-FAPI PET and [18F]FDG PET for the detection of bone metastasis in the included studies.
