摘要
This study documented the perspective of 46 Quebec family physicians regarding the assessment and screening of at-risk drivers to (1) better understand their perceived level of competence; (2) identify the difficulties encountered in the decision-making process; and (3) document their needs and attitudes regarding collaboration with occupational therapists. Participants (female: 84.8%; mean of experience: 15.7 (+/- 12,1) years) completed a 30-question online survey. The results of this study show that although physicians are comfortable assessing and screening at-risk drivers, they do not consider themselves to be the most qualified professionals to do so. They also recognize the role occupational therapists play in screening and providing interventions for these patients. They therefore see the relevance of having access to these professionals in primary care.
