A Chain Mediation Model of Entrepreneurial Teachers’ Experience and Teaching Competency —— Evidence from China

Abstract
With the rapid development of entrepreneurial education (EE), the demand for EE teachers has increased. Thus, it is important to improve teaching competency. This study focuses on four types of entrepreneurial experiences—academic, practice, teaching, and training—and investigates how these experiences influence EE teachers' teaching competency. A chain mediation model was constructed to examine the mechanism of the main effect. A sample of 1233 EE teacher was used to test the proposed theoretical model. Our results reveal that learning from experience can significantly improve EE teachers' teaching competency, and the understanding of EE orientation and the diversity of EE teaching methods play a chain-mediating role. This study contributes to the literature on teachers’ teaching competency.
