Cylindrical Shaped Quasi Isotropic Wrap Around Antenna for Missile or UAV Communcation

Abstract
This paper presents a proposal for a 1 x 4 cylindrical cavity-backed slot antenna array with a quasi-isotropic radiating pattern. The quasi-isotropic radiating pattern is accomplished through the use of a phased array antenna system. The optimal phases required to achieve the desired radiating pattern are calculated and implemented using a passive delay feeding line. The proposed antenna possesses a radius of 50mm and a height of 70mm, with an impedance bandwidth of 4.08%. By precisely controlling the phase, the cylindrical antenna array successfully eliminates the radiation null associated with the equiphase wrap-around antenna, resulting in a gain ranging from -7.5 dBi to 3 dBi in all directions.
