The Association of Cytokines in Nasal Epithelial Lining Fluid (nelf) with Asthma Outcomes Differ Between Normal Weight and Overweight/obese Children

The obese-asthma phenotype is associated with excess morbidity and postulated to have complex airway/systemic inflammatory mechanisms. Using a validated noninvasive method of measuring upper airways cytokines from nasal epithelial lining fluid (nELF), we hypothesize that nELF cytokine concentrations are associated with asthma symptoms in children and vary by children's weight.
