Simulation calculations of pressure drops on the sieve tray in the absorption column

摘要
The numerical fluid dynamics (CFD) method was selected for simulation calcns. of the sieve tray in the absorption column. Simulations were carried out for perforated plates made in three different hole cutting technologies: by drilling, pressing and water cutting. The perforation technology of sieve plates had a significant impact on the unit pressure drop of the gas phase, which increased in the order of drilled < pressed < water cut plates. Exptl. verification of the obtained results for selected perforation variants and process parameters showed satisfactory accuracy of the applied calcn. method.
