The chemical side of sustainability: the contribution of the agricultural chemistry team of the Department of Agriculture, Food and Environment for a greener future

Nowadays, the upcoming environmental and economic challenges arisen mainly from anthropogenic activities have led to several issues at a global scale. To face them, the key concept of "sustainability" must be the least common denominator for any possible solution to be proposed. In this optic, the agricultural chemistry team of the Department of Agriculture, Food and Environment of the University of Pisa is currently trying to address some of the agri-food-related problems with eco-friendly and sustainable solutions, that will be further described, in accordance with Sustainable Development Goals of 2030 Agenda by the United Nations.
