On the Potential of Passive Metasurface Skins for Enhanced Biomedical Imaging

Biomedical imaging has revolutionized healthcare by enabling non-invasive visualization and diagnosis of various physiological processes and pathologies. This article explores the emerging field of passive metasurface skins and their potential to enhance biomedical imaging. We propose to improve the microwave penetration depth by using a passive metasurface skin based upon very promising preliminary results for the reflection coefficient and the transmission coefficient using a simplified model of a half human head.
