Sex disparity in professional recognition is a profound issue that mirrors broader societal inequalities.1–4 Despite a recent increase in the number of awards received by female physicians, a significant gap persists between male and female physicians in terms of recognition. This disparity is particularly evident in the underrepresentation of women in receiving humanitarian, research, and achievement awards, and has been previously demonstrated in other specialties.5
