Tracking the transfer of resistance-carrying bacteria between animals, humans and the environment

The fight against antibiotic resistance must integrate the "One Health" concept to be effective. This consists of having a holistic approach embracing the different ecosystems, man, animal and environment. Transfers of resistance genes can exist between these three domains and different stresses linked to the exposome can influence these transfers. Different targeted or pan-genomic molecular biology techniques can be implemented to better characterize the circulation of bacterial clones but also to identify the exchanges of genes and mobile genetic elements between ecosystems.
