Transmission Performance Analysis of Space Optical Communication Based on PPM in Atmospheric Channel

摘要
The transmission performance of space optical communication based on pulse position modulation (PPM) in atmospheric channel is studied. We utilize the quantitative mathematical analysis to derive the bit error probability of PPM in atmospheric turbulence channel. The performance variations with different modulation order and turbulence intensity are quantitatively analyzed. Besides, on the basis of turbulence effect, we consider the phenomenon of pulse broadening induced by the scattering effect and further analyze the transmission performance. The bit error probability of PPM with higher modulation order will be subjected to the greater impact in the presence of the scattering effect.
