Using the full data sample of 980fb(-1) collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric energy electron-positron collider, we report the results of the first search for the rare semileptonic decays Xi(0)(c)->Xi 0l & thorn;l-(l 1/4 eor mu). No significant signals are observed in the Xi 0l & thorn;l-invariant-mass distributions. Taking the de fraction ratios B( Xi(0)(c)->Xi(e0)& thorn;e-& THORN;=B & eth;Xi 0c ->Xi-pi & thorn;& THORN;<6.7x10-3andB & eth;Xi 0c ->Xi 0 mu & thorn;mu-& THORN;=B & eth;Xi 0c ->Xi-pi & thorn;& THORN;<4.3x10-3based on the phase-space assumption for signal decays. The 90% credibility upperlimits on the absolute branching fractions of B & eth;Xi 0c ->Xi 0e & thorn;e-) and B & eth;Xi(0)c ->Xi(0)mu(+)mu(-)) are found to be9.9x10(-5 )and 6.5x10(-5), respectively.
