NIST Multi-Domain Knowledge Planes for Service Federation for 5G & Beyond Public Working Group: Applications to Federated Autonomic/Autonomous Networking

National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is an Agency of the United States Department of Commerce. Transformational Networks and Services group of NIST's Communication Technology Laboratory's Smart Connected Systems Division, has formed the Multi-Domain Knowledge Planes for Service Federation for 5G & Beyond Public Working Group (MDKP-PWG). MDKP-PWG is investigating growing trends on Requirements for Enablers for Cross-Industry Sectors End-to-End (E2E) Services Innovation and Delivery Agility that facilitate the leveraging of dynamic resource and assets availability when they are discoverable to use in dynamic on-demand service innovation and composition. This paper introduces the MDKP-PWG and highlights the goal of fostering and enabling a new ecosystem on Cross-Industry Sectors End-to-End (E2E) Services Innovation and Delivery Agility in which GANA KP Platforms should play role as anchors for the ecosystem. The Problem Statement, targeted deliverables, draft architecture framework, and how experts can join and contribute are discussed in this paper.
