Research Description
El Saddik is leading haptics expert, with global recognition for his development of new technologies for real-time multisensory-based identification of humans (biometrics), synchronization of haptics, audio and visual data, biomedical engineering and eHealth systems, Quality of Experience models for multisensory environments, hand gesture recognition and vocabulary, context-aware serious games, and methods that dynamically compute the confidence levels of sensory data in a collaborative environment. His work looks toward the establishment of AR and immersive VR systems that allow people to interact in real-time with one another and objects in virtual environments that incorporate a sense of touch and proprioception as well as traditional audio-visual information.
