Antonina Dattolo is Deputy Rector for Digital Inclusion; is founder and head of the SASWEB (Semantic, Adaptive and Social Web http://www.sasweb.uniud.it/) Research Lab at the University of Udine.
She received the Laurea degree with full marks (cum laude) in Computer Science from University of Salerno (Italy) in 1990 and the Ph.D in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from University of Naples Federico II in 1997. In 1995 she was a visiting PhD student at UCD (University College of Dublin) and in 1996 at the Multimedia Research Laboratory of University of Southampton (UK) and at University of Hull. From 1998 to 1999 she received from University of Salerno an European co-funded post-doctoral fellows on “Technologies of Information and Communication – Cultural Heritage”.
In 2000, she received a research grant from University Federico II of Naples on “Computational Statistics and Hypermedia models: theory and applications”.
From 2001 to 2007 she is assistant professor at the Department of Mathematics and Applications of the University Federico II of Naples. On October 2007, she moved to the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, now Department of Mathematics, Computer Science and Physics, of the University of Udine.
She taught various university and European master courses in the field of Computer Science (among others, Multimedia and hypermedia systems, Web engineering, Technologies of information and communication, Multi agent systems) for both scientific and humanistic faculties.
She is author and co-author of more that 80 papers published in International Journals, Refereed International Conferences and Books. She serves as a reviewer for International Journals, she is member of Technical Committees of International Conferences.
Specialties: Her research interests include semantic Web, Inclusive Web, user modelling, conceptual maps, folksonomies, authoring tools in Web 2.0, knowledge structures, social applications.
