Yu Zhang, Associate Professor and Doctoral Supervisor of State Key Laboratory of Industrial Control Technology, College of Control Science and Engineering, Zhejiang University. Also a member of the Intelligent Automation Professional Committee of the China Association of Automation and a member of the Zhejiang Association of Automation.
He received the B.S. Degree in information engineering from Xi'an Jiaotong University, Xi'an, China in 2003, and the M.S. and Ph.D. Degrees in computer science and technology from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China in 2009. He was a post-doctor at Tsinghua University from 2009 to 2011 and a visiting scholar at Robotics Institute of Carnegie Mellon University from 2013 to 2014. He is now an Associate Professor in the College of Control Science and Engineering at Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China.
For a long time, he has been engaged in the research field of autonomous navigation and intelligent control of small scale aerial vehicles. In recent years, he has taken charge of 1 project for the 863 Young Scientists Fund project in the aerospace field, 2 National Natural Science Foundation projects, and 2 Fundamental Research Funds for the Central Universities. More than 30 papers have been published in SCI and EI, and a number of national invention patents in related fields of Autonomous aerial vehicles. As the adviser, the team has won the first prize in the International Aerial Robotics Competition(Asian-Pacific Division) for two years (2016 and 2017).
His research interests include navigation and control of aerial robots, visual navigation and environmental mapping, intelligent control theory and application, artificial intelligence.
