This study presents an extensive mathematical framework for the stability analysis and validation of advanced control applications in continuous, nonlinear, hybrid, and Caputo–Fabrizio fractional-order systems. The proposed methodology integrates Lyapunov theory, Input-to-State Stability analysis, passivity, and small-gain techniques into a cohesive, generalizable criterion suitable for both linear and nonlinear dynamics. The method covers systems that are defined by Caputo–Fabrizio fractional derivatives and can handle uncertainty, disturbances, and mixed events. Validation is part of the stability analysis, which combines proof-based assurances with verification through simulation in real-world conditions. Scenario-based probabilistic analysis links the results of Monte Carlo tests to formal risk limitations. This makes it possible to verify that stability and contract compliance are both fully assured. Case studies featuring robotic manipulators, process control with model predictive control, and adaptive aeronautical systems demonstrate the methodology, achieving significant robustness margins and statistical performance assurance. This unified technique provides a theoretically robust and empirically substantiated pathway from controller synthesis to implementation.
This visual essay examines the colonia of San Isidro Labrador, located on the urban margins of Acapulco, Mexico-a territory shaped by Afro-descendant heritages and enduring conditions of socio-environmental marginalization. Drawing on an ethnographic and more-than-human approach, the article explores how urban space is co-produced through a hybrid geography in which nonhuman actors-such as the creek-operate simultaneously as sources of livelihood and as agents of risk and destruction, particularly after extreme events such as Hurricane Otis (October 2023). The essay shows how state abandonment and institutional precarity intensify persistent forms of territorial injustice, compelling residents to develop local strategies of care, repair, and resistance amid a prolonged crisis. Through situated observations of everyday practices, collective memories, and fragile materialities-homes built on unstable ground and improvised infrastructures-the piece offers a critical reading of unequal urbanization, recognizing the agency of the nonhuman and the political force of local ways of inhabiting, rebuilding, and repairing the territory. Background/Objectives: Our aim is to describe the clinical, imaging, and histopathological features of odontogenic keratocyst in a Mexican cohort. Methods: This is a retrospective, descriptive, and cross-sectional study. Clinical records and histopathology reports (2015-2025) from multiple laboratories were reviewed. Slides stained with hematoxylin and eosin were evaluated by pathologists using standardized criteria. Descriptive statistics were performed. Results: A total of 106 cases were included. Ages ranged from 10 to 86 years (mean 33.4 ± 17.7). There was a predominance of males (61/106; 57.5%). The most frequent location was the posterior mandible (49/106; 46.2%), followed by anterior mandible (30/106; 28.3%), posterior maxilla (19/106; 17.9%), and anterior maxilla (8/106; 7.5%). Most cases were asymptomatic (73/106; 68.9%). Association with an impacted tooth was documented in 37/106 (34.9%) and root resorption in 26/106 (24.5%). Satellite epithelial islands were observed in 8/106 (7.5%), satellite cysts in 17/106 (16.0%), and both findings in 4/106 (3.8%). Chronic inflammation was present in 62/106 (58.5%). Conclusions: In this Mexican series, odontogenic keratocyst predominated in males and, in the posterior mandible, was frequently asymptomatic, and showed satellite foci and chronic inflammation in a relevant proportion, reinforcing the need for clinical-imaging and histopathological correlation, as well as follow-up.
The sorghum aphid, Melanaphis sorghi Theobald, 1904 (Hemiptera: Aphididae), is one of the main pests of sorghum ( Sorghum bicolor L. Moench, Poaceae) in Mexico. Its control relies primarily on synthetic insecticides, although more sustainable alternatives using plant-derived extracts and compounds have been explored. In this study, we evaluated the insecticidal activity of Dodonaea viscosa leaves using a sequential approach. Initially, a crude acetone extract of Dodonaea viscosa (EADv) was prepared and subsequently fractionated (DvF1–DvF5) based on chemical composition; from the most active fraction, we isolated a pure diterpene, hautriwaic acid. Results showed that EADv achieved 76% mortality at 2,500 Parts per million (ppm) after 72 h. Among the fractions, DvF3 exhibited the strongest activity with 92% mortality and a median lethal concentration (LC 50 ) of 414.9 ppm at 72 h. The hautriwaic acid isolated from DvF3 was even more effective, causing 96% mortality at 50 ppm and an LC 50 of 43.79 ppm at 72 h. These findings demonstrate that D. viscosa contains compounds with significant insecticidal activity against M. sorghi , highlighting hautriwaic acid as a potent insecticidal agent at low concentrations, making it a promising alternative for integrated pest management in sorghum.
