We hare investigated theoretically the missing-mass spectral function of (pi(-), K+) reaction on Be-9 target to populate Sigma Li-9 Sigma-hypernucleus. If there is an appreciable amount of Sigma N-Lambda N coupling effect, this double charge exchange reaction would be a plausible way to populate neutron-rich Lambda-hypernuclei. We have used Plane Wave Impulse Approximation Method together with Sigma-nucleus Woods-Saxon potential. It is found that the strengths of V-Sigma=-20 MeV and W-Sigma=-3MeV give an observable narrow peak in the spectrum of Sigma Li-9. To investigate the Lambda-Sigma, coupling effect and Sigma mixing component in He-9(Lambda), we also studied the structure calculation of He-9(Lambda) by solving the coupled channel Schrodinger equation. Lambda-Sigma coherent coupling effect is 0.19 MeV and Sigma mixing probability is 0.2% in He-9(Lambda).
In this research, pionic energy spectra of hypertriton H-3(Lambda) and H-4(Lambda) weak decay process are investigated in the frame work of Plane Wave Impulse Approximation (PWIA). The pionic energy spectra from H-3(Lambda) and H-4(Lambda) weak decay process are obtained by using Green's function method. Interaction between deuteron d-A is constructed by fitting the parameters of Isle type potential with a central repulsion and a single Gaussian potential with no repulsion (SO) which reproduce the binding energy of hypertriton H-3(Lambda). We have analyzed in detail the antisymmetrization of H-3(Lambda) which is the origin of enhancement in H-3(Lambda) decay rate. This might solve the discrepancy issue of H-3(Lambda) decay life time between theoretical and experimental results. Similar analysis for H-4(Lambda) hypernucleus was conducted.
A new genus and new species of potamid crab, Indawmon thanayei, is described from Indawgyi Lake in Kachin State, Myanmar. The taxon is characterised mainly by its male first gonopod structure which has the terminal and subterminal segments not clearly demarcated, with the terminal segment subcylindrical in shape, gradually tapering to a sharp tip and is bent at an angle of about 45-90 degrees. The new genus is compared with Indochinamon and Shanphusa, which it superficially resembles. The genetic data (based on the mitochondrial 16S rDNA) also supports the establishment of the new taxa.
The potamid freshwater crab, Inlethelphusa acanthica (Kemp, 1918), is endemic to Inle Lake, in Shan state, Myamnar, and was hitherto known only from the types and several small specimens collected in the 1930s. The species, the type of Inlethelphusa Yeo & Ng, 2007, is redescribed from a good series of fresh specimens. The taxonomy of the species is discussed and variations in the armature of the carapace kunerolateral margin, male pleon, chela, as well as the male first gonopod structure are documented. Significantly, the male first gonopod of smaller specimens has the terminal segment straight and more cylindrical, with the tip truncate or weakly bifurcated, in contrast to that of larger males, which is more elongate, with the distal part gently curved upwards and the tip sharp.
The effect of Wolffia sp. as supplemental feedon growth performance and the body composition of Indian major carp, Labeo rohita fingerlings were examined. The experiments were carried out in the laboratory in triplicates. The commercial feed of tokyu was used as feed for all experimental fish. In addition to tokyu, 10 gram wet weight of Wolffia sp. was directly introduced as supplemental feed for all experimental fish except control. Good survival rate was observed in control (95%) and experiments (97%). At the end of experiments, the growth of all Wolffia sp. fed L. rohita showed significantly higher (p<0.05) than control fish. More significantly different in weight gain, protein efficiency ratio, food conversion ratio, specific growth rate, means daily weight gain and condition factor were also found in Wolffia sp. fed L. rohita than that of control. The protein content of Wolffia sp. fed L. rohita was better than that of control fish. All experimental fish gave positively length weight relationships and L. rohita consumed Wolffia sp. throughout the experimentation was observed. The present study can be concluded that the use of Wolffia sp. improve the nutritional quality of L. rohita fingerlings.
