The University of Fredericton is a private for-profit online university established in 2005 in Fredericton, New Brunswick. It offers online courses in several fields. The University's first verified degrees were offered in 2007. It offers MBA, EMBA and Master’s Certificates through its Sandermoen School of Business, a number of diploma and certificate programs through its School of Occupational Health and Safety and Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace programs. The University offers its programs through distance learning using live, online classrooms. The University of Fredericton's business programs are verified and validated by the Province of New Brunswick in Canada under section 3 of the provincial Degree Granting Act. The University of Fredericton received accreditation for these programs on April 10, 2007.
The New Brunswick segment of the Canadian Appalachians contains a variety of gold deposits and occurrences that formed at different stages of the Appalachian orogeny. The Tobique-Chaleur Zone, situated in the northern part of New Brunswick, hosts several orogenic and epithermal gold mineralization systems that are spatially related to large-scale crustal faults or their subsidiary splays, such as the Rocky Brook-Millstream Fault. Although gold mineralization in northern New Brunswick is hosted by auriferous quartz veins, finding pathfinder elements, indicator minerals and alteration associated with gold mineralization remains challenging. Herein, the portable X-ray fluorescence (p-XRF; Olympus Vanta (TM)) spectrometer, in conjunction with micro-X-ray fluorescence (mu -XRF) energy dispersive spectrometry (EDS), was applied to selected core intervals from four gold systems in the region: the Williams Brook, McIntyre Brook, Mulligan Gulch and Simpson Field occurrences. We generated p-XRF-based multi-element datasets from selected intervals, then applied compositional data analysis, including principal component analysis (biplots) and cluster analysis, to interpret them. Although the p-XRF analysis and subsequent multivariate compositional data analysis provide geochemical patterns and highlight indicator elements associated with gold mineralization, the study also includes a comprehensive mineralogical analysis. The p-XRF geochemical data help the interpretation of the mineralogy, but the explicit mineralogical composition is confirmed through detailed petrographic and mu-XRF analyses. Gold-bearing minerals were further identified by mu -XRF-EDS analysis, revealing that gold is mainly associated with sulfide minerals, namely pyrite, chalcopyrite, pyrrhotite, stibnite and arsenopyrite. In addition to the above, our mineralogical studies further indicate that fine-grained muscovite and illite, produced by potassic and silicification alteration styles, are associated with gold-bearing quartz veins.

Purpose Determining the skills required for salespersons to maximize their effectiveness was the main driver for conducting the present study. In order to identify those necessary skills, this study aims to review various research techniques drawn from multiple disciplines and applied that knowledge to salespersons. Design/methodology/approach This study used a mixed-method methodology. This study began by conducting a literature review and then interviewed experienced salespersons with varied backgrounds to develop a comprehensive list of sales skills and themes and categorize them into competency categories. This study then conducted a quantitative analysis to determine the respective importance of the skills and themes by surveying a sample of internal stakeholders of a multinational company. Finally, this study calculated the reliability and validity of the themes. Findings A total of 206 relevant skills (later reduced to 110) and 28 themes were identified and grouped into three competency categories: conceptual, human/interpersonal and technical. Survey respondents rated the skills and themes higher than the “somewhat important” score of 3 out of 5, with the overall mean importance for skills being in the “important” range (score of 4.27 out of 5). All identified skills were believed to be important to a salesperson’s success. Originality/value This study’s expanded list of sales skills will improve employability, reduce turnover among employees and build better groundwork for fostering learning through work, resulting in better performance. These skills represent a 2020 updated list that could be used for future academic research and training and research in the business world.
In case you forgot or didn’t read (ahem) the purpose of the Dialing In problem sets in the preface, these are problems for you to try before (or in tandem with) your formal instruction or reading. They cover a wide range of topics. Some of them will not be familiar to you. But try them now, look things up (in this book, for example), and come back to them as you proceed through the text.
ABSTRACT The current generation of undergraduate students in the classroom (Gen Z) is the loneliest generation in the U.S. (Twenge, 2017), and they know it. What are they spending time on? Their phones. What are they not spending time on? Time with friends (Twenge, 2017). Gen Z has more of a life online versus offline, yet Gen Z yearns for in-person interaction, and the pandemic has only made it worse. The authors’ advice? Tell a joke. By combining theories from psychology, management, and marketing, this conceptual paper explores the relationship between humor, trust, and persuasion.
