
At present, the internet of things (IoT) has developed tremendously. When researchers use this development in image processing according to modern science, they bring the best image manipulation methods to current research. Based on this, this research focuses on image segmentation analysis of diabetic foot ulcers in the presence of the IoT. This research does intelligent segmentation analysis to detect diabetic foot ulcers better and treat them through virtual sensing. Regarding this, the proposed system forms the 'multimodal compressed sensing segmentation' to enhance the segmentation quality. Through this, the smart IoT for image segmentation analysis is established, using the smart IoT with the risk analysis by smart risk analysis, and the group is made up of prominent clinical characteristics. This helps to make the validity and reliability assessment of diabetic foot ulcers by analysis of likelihood ratio, sensitivity, and specificity.
Metaverse technology is a new challenging trend that is rapidly growing in the health sector. It combines the technology of both virtually (VR) and augmented reality (AR) and consists of artificial intelligent (AI) systems. It is used for simulating the physical educational programs of medical and nursing staff and offers the participants an immersive experience of a 3D world. The Metaverse environments play a vital role in training nurses and doctors in real working environments, such as prisons, holographic medical clinics and iconic cardiology centres, without the limitation of their physical presence. Furthermore, modern Metaverse applications enable users to learn human anatomy by wearing 3D headsets which allow them to navigate through the human body during a surgery or improve their cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) techniques. Medical students can also use the Metaverse technology for educational reasons inside 3D chemistry laboratories where they can guide through 3D molecules and particles.
Diverse patients' health information requires an appropriate approach that meets the plethora of needs of both healthcare providers and patients for effective management. The exchange of medical information between professionals is critical to the delivery of quality care. Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH) 's information exchange is currently paper-based and error-prone. As a result, an electronic health record (EHR) is being developed where data can be transferred between members of healthcare in the hospital. This paper demonstrates how EHR improves the management of patients' health information. A cross sectional study design was used where a total population of HIM professionals at EKSUTH were given questionnaires on related questions. The results showed that there is environmental support towards ICT and the benefits and barriers towards the implementation of EHR were identified. Summarily, healthcare information management will thrive in the face of EHR when adopted and integrated into healthcare services.
The COVID-19 pandemic has placed an enormous burden on healthcare systems. The pandemic revealed insufficient digitalisation of Czech healthcare, particularly in terms of interconnectedness of healthcare systems. Before the pandemic, the digitalisation of healthcare was not a priority; thus the E-health Act is still absent. Paperless healthcare was only represented by e-prescription (eRecept) and electronic sick note (e-Neschopenka), with tracking application e-Rouska and electronic medical request for COVID testing (eZadanka) introduced in 2020. The pandemic is expected to accelerate the digitalisation of Czech healthcare supported by funds from the National Recovery Plan. Nonetheless, several projects have been postponed with healthcare priorities being identified elsewhere. Based on a novel approach we analysed emerging medical-related technologies (keywords) in research output (publications, projects, contractual research, patents) among Czech research institutions and firms. In the last decade (2009-2018), the most frequent new technologies (keywords) were those related to genetics (genomic and genetic sequencing), nanomaterials (nanoparticle and nanomedicine), e-health (data processing), and sensors necessary for IoMT. In terms of future business opportunities big data, AI/machine learning and IoMT/wearables are considered to be the three principal transformative digital technologies.
The online pharmacy business in Saudi Arabia is facing a great challenge in adoption. Therefore, this paper aims to examine the factors influencing the adoption of online pharmacy in Saudi Arabia. This study was carried out under the Unified theory of acceptance and usage of technology-2 (UTAUT-2) to examine the perception of customers on adopting online pharmacy. SPSS and structural equation modelling-Smart-PLS are used for data analysis. The main findings showed that technology trust and technological awareness has a significant impact on the behavioural intention of the consumer to adopt online pharmacy. On the other hand, it is found that perceived risk has an insignificant influence on the consumer's behavioural intention. It is recommended to further investigate the effect of other factors influencing online pharmacy adoption in Saudi Arabia such as performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence and hedonic motivation.
Given the negative health outcomes of medication errors, there is the need to explore the effectiveness of web-based medication error reporting and management systems in improving medication safety.Therefore, this study critically evaluates the literature on this innovation to explore how they have proven effective in reducing the number of medication errors in assisted living facilities.A systematic review of literature following the PRISMA guidelines was used to identify and screen peer-reviewed articles that analysed the use of web-based medication error reporting systems in assisted living facilities.After screening 314 articles, seven were selected for this review.The thematic analysis suggests that the medication reminders and other notifications of the web applications improved medication adherence and led to medication error reduction.Overall, findings indicate that web-based error reporting systems are useful in improving drug safety and medication management in assisted living facilities.
