
The article shows that social media marketing plays an important role in the modern healthcare industry. Based on the conducted marketing research it has been identified frequencies of respondents' assessments of social media marketing activities carried out by Georgian healthcare organizations, also Frequencies of respondents' engagement in social media concerning healthcare. It is established through regression analysis the impact of social media marketing activities provided by healthcare organizations on consumer engagement.
Examining the philosophical projections of law as a value-regulatory system, this paper argues that the measure of law in the digital world particularizes and concretizes legal meaning. It reflects the distributive nature of law as a fundamental legal quality.
Structural transformation is a widely debated research issue because of its ties with productivity, labor distribution, incomes and other facets of economic development. It is well explored in developing country settings. There are also studies that give thorough analysis of the issues in developed economies. As for the transitional countries the focus of economic policy-making and research has mainly been on the economic and institutional reforms that aim at transition to functioning market economy. Studies that would give a clear understanding of how these reforms have contributed to productivity growth across sectors, their upgrading and shift from low to high value added activities are scarce. These countries also are missing from industrial policy debates. To fill the gap the present paper analyzes Georgia’s economic transformation through the lenses of export performance and discusses the need for new industrial policy. Georgia has been following a trade-centric approach to development (marked with reforms targeted at export-led growth, trade liberalization, trade facilitation and trade agreements as key policies). The potential to diversify exports and increase sustainable employment will be evaluated through the lenses of the new industrial policy. The data on sectoral value-added, sectoral employment shares, sectoral expenditure shares and sectoral net export shares of total GDP will be applied.
The research aims to classify the personalization techniques as optional and those that are taken for granted, define the influence of consumer-related characteristics and purchase channel on the perception of personalization effects. The results are both practical and theoretical in nature. The classification of personalization techniques is conducted, and optional and critically important techniques are identified. The influence of digital literacy,hedonic shopping behavior and purchase channel on the perception of personalization effects is examined and a multifactor model is constructed. It has been identified that these factors do not play the deciding role in the perception of personalization effects.
The development of the processes of provision and consumption of electronic administrative services (EAS) in Bulgaria is an essential part of the digital transformation of the public sector as a whole. The aim of the publication is to examine the attitudes of part of the society in the country regarding the paperless application and receipt of services from the municipal administrations. The methods used to achieve it are GAP analysis, induction, deduction, study of secondary sources and data from conducted empirical research. As a result, by means of a comparison of the generated array of information and the synthesized analytical units, essential aspects of the relationship territorial affiliation-attitudes towards the consumption of EAS in Bulgaria are deduced.
Adopting digital technologies has become necessary for SMEs if they are to succeed in the competitive and integrated global market, and that is true for the SMEs in Albania, too. However, investing in digital technologies would be a burden to them since they are very small in size and resources. Albania has almost 119 000 active enterprises and roughly 110 000 of them have less than 10 employees. Identifying the right model for the SMEs in Albania — the value creation model — is the purpose of this paper towards finding the incentives for businesses to invest in digital technologies.
Starting from the beginning of 2020, numerous changes in the consumer behavior have been observed by researchers and practitioners in the marketing sphere. There is an essential need in marketing and communications to distinguish short-term trends in consumption and digitalization from those that have the potential to endure and evolve. This paper presents the results from an empirical study on the changes in the behaviour of Bulgarian consumers and aims to provide a broader initial view of the emerging patterns in consumption in Bulgaria as a result of the pandemic.
Over the last few years, the world economy has faced a number of problems and challenges that adversely affect its development. The Bulgarian economy and in particular the Bulgarian metallurgical industry, as open systems, are also subject to the negative impact of external and internal factors. The research is aimed at identifying and analysing the main issues and challenges faced by the Bulgarian metallurgical industry. The results of the study show a persistent adverse influence of some factors, both from the external and internal environment, which necessitates the need for metallurgical companies to develop and implement new strategies.
The article examines key economic dimensions of German-Bulgarian business relations in the context of contemporary economic, pandemic and geopolitical challenges in Central and Eastern Europe – macroeconomic parameters, assessment of the environment, state of companies, problems and risks, planned initiatives and the focus in the future investment intentions of Bulgarian companies in commercial and economic relations with Germany and of investors from Germany with business operations in Bulgaria. Based on the research, potential successful areas for the development of the German-Bulgarian trade and economic relations have been outlined and the strategic business opportunities of the companies in the conditions of a dynamic and highly risky environment have been formulated.
This paper aims at identifying and classifying the visual marketing elements most frequently used in digital media. State of the art scientific articles and blog posts serve as an information base for analysis and synthesis in order to identify different types of digital design elements such as images, infographics, data visualizations, visual quotes, memes, and Gifs, emojis, etc., and further to classify them into logical groups according to their format and function. As a result, a classification tool is developed which can be used by both researchers and practitioners to plan further investigations of business practices and customer preferences, as well as to plan visual communications avoiding clutter and inconsistence.
The article examines two forms of gamification with elements of digitalization in the preparation of students of economic specialties and proposes a third form of game learning in 3D-virtual reality. The components of strategic planning and the decision-making process, which can be effectively used in the process of teaching/learning economic disciplines on IT-platforms and in 3D-simulators in the conditions of university business incubators, are analyzed. Attention is drawn to the redistribution of the role of the human factor/capital as aresult of the rapid development of smart-robots and artificial intelligence.
The article shows the role of social media marketing in developing tourist destinations. It is emphasized that using social media marketing tools helps tourist destinations manage relations with customers. The paper focuses on the use of social media marketing in tourist destinations. Here listed the reasons that prevent the development of social media marketing activities in Georgian tourist destinations. Considering this, marketing research was conducted, through which the attitude of tourists towards social media marketing activities provided by Georgian tourist destinations was studied. Here, customer interest, Engagement and satisfaction with such activities are also established. Statistically significant values have been obtained, which reflect the impact of social media marketing on the consumer behaviour of tourist destinations.
We present an algorithm which robustly computes the intersection curve(s) of an under-constrained piecewise polynomial system consisting of n equations with n + 1 unknowns. The solution of such a system is typically a curve in Rn+1. This work extends the single solution test of [6] for a set of algebraic constraints from zero dimensional solutions to univariate solutions, in Rn+1. Our method exploits two tests: a no loop test (NLT) and a single component test (SCT) that together isolate and separate domains D where the solution curve consists of just one single component. For such domains, a numerical curve tracing is applied. If one of those tests fails, D is subdivided. Finally, the single components are merged together and, consequently, the topological configuration of the resulting curve is guaranteed. Several possible application of the solver, like 3D trisector curves or kinematic simulations in 3D are discussed.
Shells are three-dimensional structures. One dimension, the thickness, is much smaller than the other two dimensions. Shell structures can be widely found in many real-world objects. This paper presents a method to construct a layered hexahedral mesh for shell objects. Given a closed 2-manifold and the user-specified thickness, we construct the shell space using the distance field and then parameterize the shell space to a polycube domain. The volume parameterization induces the hexahedral tessellation in the object shell space. As a result, the constructed mesh is an all-hexahedral mesh in which most of the vertices are regular, i.e., the valence is 6 for interior vertices and 5 for boundary vertices. The mesh also has a layered structure, so that all layers have exactly the same tessellation. We prove that our parameterization is guaranteed to be bijective. As a result, the constructed hexahedral mesh is free of degeneracy, such as self-intersection, flip-over, etc. We also show that the iso-parametric line (in the thickness dimension) is orthogonal to the other two iso-parametric lines. We apply our algorithm to numerous real-world models of various geometry and topology. The promising experimental results demonstrate the efficacy of our algorithm. Although our main focus is to construct a hexahedral mesh by using volumetric polycube parameterization, the proposed framework is general that can be applied to other regular domains, such as cylinder and sphere, which is also demonstrated in the paper.
The centroidal Voronoi tessellation (CVT) has found versatile applications in geometric modeling, computer graphics, and visualization. In this paper, we extend the concept of the CVT from Euclidean space to hyperbolic space. A novel hyperbolic CVT energy is defined, and the relationship between minimizing this energy and the hyperbolic CVT is proved. We also show by our experimental results that the hyperbolic CVT has the similar property as its Euclidean counterpart where the sites are uniformly distributed according to given density values. Two algorithms -- Lloyd's algorithm and the L-BFGS algorithm -- are adopted to compute the hyperbolic CVT, and the convergence of Lloyd's algorithm is proved. As an example of the application, we utilize the hyperbolic CVT to compute uniform partitions and high-quality remeshing results for high-genus (genus>1) surfaces.
The surfaces of complex free-form objects can typically be modeled by a hierarchy of primary surfaces, connecting surfaces and corner patches. Within the context of digital shape reconstruction, these surfaces simultaneously approximate measured data points, satisfy fairness criteria and adhere to continuity constraints according to their dependencies. A new framework algorithm is introduced to perfect existing B-spline surfaces; the algorithm alternates --- in a stepwise manner --- between continuity constraint satisfaction and fairing by the remaining degrees of freedom. Some well-known fairing methods are adapted to this framework. Constrained fairing for n-sided corner patches, composed of quadrilaterals, is also briefly discussed. A few examples illustrate the results.
In a recent paper, Warren, Schaefer, Hirani, and Desbrun proposed a simple method of interpolating a function defined on the boundary of a smooth convex domain, using an integral kernel with properties similar to those of barycentric coordinates on simplexes. When applied to vector-valued data, the interpolation can map one convex region into another, with various potential applications in computer graphics, such as curve and image deformation. In this paper we establish some basic mathematical properties of barycentric kernels in general, including the interpolation property and a formula for the Jacobian of the mappings they generate. We then use this formula to prove the injectivity of the mapping of Warren et al.
Classical computational geometry algorithms handle geometric constructs whose shapes and locations are exact. However, many real-world applications require computing with geometric uncertainties, which are often coupled and mutually dependent. Existing uncertainty models cannot be used to handle dependencies among objects resulting in overestimation of the mutual errors. We have recently developed the Linear Parametric Geometric Uncertainty Model (LPGUM), a general and computationally efficient worst-case first-order linear approximation of geometric uncertainty that supports dependencies among uncertainties. In this paper, we present the properties of the uncertainty zones of a point and a line, and offer efficient algorithms to compute them. We also describe new efficient algorithms to handle relative position queries, e.g., the classification of an uncertain point with respect to an uncertain line. We show that, in all cases, the overhead of computing with dependent uncertainties is low.
We address the problem of representing the geometry and the morphology of a triangulated surface endowed with a scalar field in a combined geometric and topological multiresolution model. The model, called a Multiresolution Morse Triangulation (MMT), is composed of a multiresolution triangle mesh, and of a multiresolution Morse complex describing the morphology of the field. The MMT is built through a combined morphological and geometrical generalization, and supports queries to extract consistent geometrical and morphological representations of the field at both uniform and variable resolutions.
