An example of web-based students’ laboratory work of the Department of Organic Products Technology of the Lviv Polytechnic National University is given. By computer modeling written in JavaScript, students have the opportunity to conduct their own additional experiments of one of the main processes of organic synthesis, namely the alcohols dehydration reaction. Through setting their own process conditions, students receive simulated values. The obtained values can be used to plot the dependences of the process parameters on the conditions, giving the opportunity to further train themselves by interpreting the results obtained from the graphs. Two variants of modeling calculation of chemical process are given. Additional experimental values also make it possible to more accurately plot dependencies that will better reflect the process. Students will have the opportunity to improve their skills to formulate conclusions about the process and the conditions of chemical process.
Carrying out high-quality training in the conditions of quarantine restrictions puts forward new actual tasks for carrying out practical laboratory works and activities. Model of Implementation Online-Education Systems for Educational Process Supporting at the high education institutions and schools has been discussed. The problem of the development software of virtual laboratory work is relevant, because preparing high-quality virtual laboratory work is a time-consuming task for the natural sciences. E-learning laboratory work are mainly remote and should be integrated with Learning Management System for more effective learning process. A set of three hierarchical models with learning objectives, level of complexity and specificity have been taking into account in the implemented Learning Management System. Learning objectives in the cognitive, affective and sensory domains are related with Blooms taxonomy.
In 1970, Academician V.M. Glushkov published a paper, in which he, along with a discussion of some of the problems of artificial intelligence, formulated a research programme called Evidence Algorithm (EA), containing his vision of the problem of a computer-aided support of a human in theorem proving in mathematics. He suggested to make a research on the creation of an automated theorem-proving system with a formal language of a natural type as its input language, with a proof search procedure constructed on the notion of a computer evidence of a machine-made proof step developing in accordance with a knowledge accumulated by the system during its operation, and with the possibility of a human to make intervention in the proof search process. Two attempts have been made in order to implement this programme. The first led to the appearance in 1978 of the Russianlanguage automated theorem-proving system, denoted by RuSAD, and the second – to the appearance in 2002 of the English-language system for automate deduction, denoted by EnSAD. And if the development and trial operation of RuSAD were stopped in 1992 after the output from service of the ES-line computers, EnSAD, after its placement on the website “nevidal.org”, is still online available now. This work is mainly devoted to the description of the approaches to the creation and realization of the evidential “engines” of both RuSAD and EnSAD – a topic insufficiently covered in publications on EA, RuSAD, and EnSAD.
This paper presents the structuring of a new approach to countering cyber threats – Threat Hunting. This concept is proactive threat search, mainly a manual process with elements of automation, in which the analyst uses his knowledge and skills to check large amounts of information for indicators of compromise, according to a predetermined hypothesis of the presence of a threat. All key elements of Threat Hunting approach were explained as well as functional diagram for a deep understanding and application of this approach in practice by specialists in the field of cybersecurity was proposed in the paper.

This paper considers a problem of dashboard design in order to improve data analytics and decision making as business intelligence capabilities. Essentials of data warehouses and data marts used as data sources for business intelligence activities are briefly outlined, and the star schema data structure is considered as the most widely used. Data visualization is considered from the perspective of proper visualization graphs and charts selection. It is extremely vital for designed dashboards, since inappropriate visuals may mislead users and shift their focus to wrong things. Bar charts, line charts, and pie charts are considered as the most common visualization graphs. Proposed approach includes two phases: dataset preparation and dataset analysis. While dataset preparation is mostly focused on star schema transformation into flat structures, dataset analysis phase proposes recommendations on which visualizations may be placed on a designed dashboard. In order to propose such recommendations, threshold values of dataset sizes are used. A dashboard design process, which is considered as the baseline of the proposed dashboard design approach, is outlined. Sample dataset in considered, five data subsets are prepared and recommendations on visualization charts for these datasets, which may be placed on a dashboard, are proposed. Obtained results are discussed, conclusions are made, as well as the further research objectives in this field are formulated.
Factors of social change culminate in the development of the so-called networked society. Subsequently, networked society calls for networked governance. The development of e-government in Ukraine is impossible without appropriate training of relevant qualified professionals. Based on e-governance the activity profile a survey was conducted among the stakeholders of electronic government institutions – in-service government officials and students of government management programs. The paper objective is to assess the survey as to the needs and possible avenues of E-governance curriculum development for higher educational institutions, in-service government officials, and the general public. The Master's Program in E-government, developed within the framework of a Ukraine-Estonia joint project on e-governance curriculum implementation, will promote the state policy in the field of information, e-governance, development, and use of national electronic information resources, elaboration of the information society.
Informatization of Ukrainian higher education institutions is a key priority of the state education policy, one of the directions to improve HEI’s IT infrastructure. The paper aims to develop an integrated quality assurance information system to enhance institutional aspects of higher education institutions’ study programs. Therefore, there is an urgent need for all stakeholders to develop, at the university level, a service-oriented architecture to assure the quality of higher education with mandatory elements, for example, student survey results, student ratings, university teachers’ rating, educational programs, results of uniqueness verification for scientific research and qualifying papers, review of educational programs for higher education applicants etc. It will allow to unify the approaches to electronic resource management and accelerate the integration of multi-level HEI quality assurance resources into a single portal. The paper presents a quality assurance information system, which allows processing students’ feedback to provide HEI’s authorities’ decision making.
The survey of classical theories of randomness is provided, and an alternative model is proposed. Analysis of the classical models demonstrates that despite their mathematical rigor they are hardly useful in practice. The new model is based on the lattice theory, has the strong mathematical basis and easily used in practice. .
The problem of developing a method of technical diagnostics on the basis of data for the study of the structural strength of the blades is considered. Methods and software tools for technical diagnostics based on the evolutionary approach have been developed. The proposed methods and tools can be used to predict the state of critical load points in the diagnosis of gas turbine blades of aircraft engines during operation. A modification of the general genetic algorithm proposed by the mechanism of the genetic search mechanism to increase the darkness of predicting random processes has been developed, and the procedure for forming the initial message processing has been determined. An evolutionary selection operator is proposed as in the generation of the first generation of indicators of the output coefficient of the threshold depending on the values of the objective function, and on the next iterations of the production rate of new production directions of the environment of the production production. The operators of mutation and inversion in the proposed modification are set up in such a way that the search is carried out in unexplored areas. This makes it possible to increase the rate of convergence of evolutionary optimization for small generations and small population sizes. In the process of testing the developed method on unimodal and multimodal functions, the genetic algorithm parameters should be used in each case to increase the rate of convergence of evolutionary optimization at small numbers of generations and small populations are determined. The parameters of the method, in particular, the size of the population, the number of generations, the bit rate and the type of crossover, are selected in such a way as to minimize the time required to work. The results of the experiments showed the feasibility of using the developed program to find the optimal values of multidimensional functions.
Authorship attribution is the natural language processing task of the author identification of an input text. The main goal of this task is to define the salient characteristics of documents that capture the author's writing style. In this paper, we analyze language-independent features for authorship attribution. All experiments were realized on the corpus of Ukrainian scientific papers. For the experiments we used Bayes Based Algorithms (Naive Bayes Multinomial), Support Vector Machine (SMO) and Decision Trees (LMT, J48) methods. The experimental results of the scientific text classification demonstrated that Decision Trees method in most cases outperforms other machine learning methods, and the proposed in the paper language-independent features are appropriate for the Ukrainian scientific documents authorship attribution.
There was analysed the expediency of using IoT technology in agricultural production. Also, the software provides for address polling of sensors, which makes it possible to evaluate how the monitored parameter has changed where the sensor is installed. With IoT technology, there was substantiated the possibility of monitoring and managing the production of compound feeds and premixes.
The rapid development of information technologies contribute to the search for various methods to increase the e-commerce company's profits. Big Data technologies are conducive to developing varieties of personalized pricing strategies, in particular dynamic pricing meaning a process of setting and developing prices for goods and services, where prices change synchronously for all consumers depending on demand under current market conditions. The implementation of dynamic pricing approaches is directly related to the use of appropriate software capable of performing data mining. The important tasks are to study the successful experience of powerful e-commerce platforms in relation to the tools that they used for analysis, and to expand the toolkit of methods to support personalized pricing strategies with methods working with Big Data. The purpose of this research is to study the experience of modeling dynamic pricing and the proposal to involve the PLS regression both to confirm the importance of dynamic factors and to predict prices in the implementation of this strategy of personalized pricing in e-commerce. The approaches to pricing in ecommerce are studied in the research. The features of different types of personalized pricing (dynamic, customized, transactional) are identified too. The approaches to modeling of dynamic pricing are explored. Applying PLS regression for predicting the impact of dynamic factors on price is proposed. The study places special emphasis on identifying the dynamic factors that have become increasingly important in recent years. Results of modeling confirm that linear regression is not able to identify hidden predictors among a large number of collinear factors (dynamic factors are often hidden and collinear) whereas PLS regression does. The proposed approach is implemented by using data of the vacation rental e-platform Airbnb.
Based on a subset of Covid-19 Wave 1 cases at a time point near TZ+3m (April, 2020), we perform an analysis of the influencing factors for the epidemics impacts with several different statistical methods. The consistent conclusion of the analysis with the available data is that apart from the policy and management quality, being the dominant factor, the most influential factors among the considered were current or recent universal BCG immunization and the prevalence of smoking.
A novel derivative-free algorithm for solving quasi-linear systems is presented. It resembles “classical” optimization approach but greatly simplifies computation, resulting in fast execution and numerical stability. Though the global convergence cannot be guaranteed, it turns out that the presented algorithm finds a solution as successfully as other commonly accepted methods. The algorithm is clearly developed and mathematically founded, and its properties are examined by comparisons with other methods.

Communication over distance via the use of communication technologies aims to offer and enable contact for older adults, who are typically restricted in terms of mobility and tend to suffer from loneliness due to the lack of social inclusion. Technologies enable communication over distance but suffer greatly in terms of providing the feeling of being connected, lacking also social presence during a remote contact. The Connected Vitality Network puts older adults at the centre of attention to study their needs for designing suitable human computer interaction methods and implement a social (tele)-presence system, which enables closeness and promotes social inclusion. Key research studies, workshop results, design principles and implementation details are presented in this paper.
Cloud computing is a paradigm that offers on-demand scalable resources with the “pay-per-usage” model. Cloud service providers' price rises linearly as the resources scale. However, the main challenge for the cloud customers is “Does the performance scale as the price for the rented resources in the cloud”? Also, how does the performance scales for different server load? In this paper we analyze the performance and the cost of a web service that utilize both memory and CPU varying the server load with different message size and number of concurrent messages in order to determine the real cost of rented CPU resources. The results show that the web service's cost rises linearly with the resources, i.e. the lowest cost is determined while hosted on one CPU.
