
The peptidase entity of angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) accommodates the receptor-binding domain of SARS-COV2 spike (S) protein initiating cell infection.Compounds binding to ACE2 or the S-protein have the potential to impair cell entry by the virus.The ACE2 substrate angiotensin II (ANGII) shares common amino acid sequences with the S-protein.This study focuses on one sequence, the N-terminal valine/arginine/aspartate peptide of ANGII.Computer modeling identifies relative molecular similarity within the tripeptide sequence and ligands for ACE2, ANGII and sigma receptor proteins with in vitro toxicity for SARS-CoV2.Molecular similarity is also evident within drug structures of several neurotransmitter classes and agents from natural sources.Application of these observations may prove useful for the further development of SARS-CoV2 antiviral drugs.
Background: Diabetic nutritional treatment involves the discussion of Low Carbohydrate Diet (LCD) and Calorie Restriction (CR). Authors have initiated and developed LCD in Japan and continued clinical research. In this study, we investigated glucose variability in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Subjects and Methods: Subjects were 60 T2DM patients of 62.7 years in average with its fasting immunoreactive insulin (IRI) less than 5μU/mL. Methods include basal blood test, daily profile of blood glucose and insulinogenic index (IGI) for 70g of carbohydrate (0-30min) in CR breakfast. Correlation among these and comparison in 4 groups categorized by Morbus value were analyzed. Results: Basal data revealed HbA1c 7.9%, daily glucose 222 mg/dL in average, and Triglyceride 83 mg/dL, Morbus value 150, HOMA-R 1.1, HOMA-β 11.0 in median. Delta Ratio of IGI and AUC ratio of IGI showed significant correlations with M value and HbA1c (p<0.01). Discussion and Conclusion: Meal Tolerance Test (MTT) has been recently used for convenient methods and meaningful results. AUC ratio suggests a little superior than Delta ratio for its higher correlation coefficient. These results would become the basal data in this field, and further development of related research is expected in the future.
Bacterial elongation factor EF-Tu has not only a function in protein synthesis but also as a major component in one of the bacterial cytoskeletons.This cytoskeleton stabilizes the shape, preservation and functioning of the bacterial cell body.As soon as the cytoskeleton has a structural defect, the cell loses its shape and integrity, and cell lysis is unavoidable.This article proposes a procedure of a search and application for an antibacterial agens based on the fact that growing bacteria lose their viability when their EF-Tu-based cytoskeleton is defect.dueto the action of such an antibiotic.
A tongue can reflect the physiological and pathological condition of the body.We aim to review the past, present, and future aspects of the tongue inspection and diagnosis.Tongue inspection and diagnosis is a unique diagnostic method applied in TCM clinical practice for thousands of years.The normal tongue feature should be flexible, slightly moist and light red body with a thin white coating.Abnormal tongue features could reflect the pathological changes of certain diseases.Through observing the changes about the color, shape, fissure, red dot, ecchymosis, and the moisture in the tongue coating and body color, TCM physicians can find the internal organ disease and the severity of the disease.In the past, traditional tongue diagnosis depends on the doctor's subjective and qualitative observation.Now modernized tongue inspection and diagnosis for objectivity and quantification is necessary.Computerized automatic tongue diagnosis system for tongue diagnosis can aid TCM physicians in capturing quantitative features to improve reliability and consistency of diagnosis.AI-driven tongue diagnosis with mobile App may be developed for health diagnosis in the future.
The Center-Val de Loire region (CVL) has 30 blood banks (2 Deliveries Banks (DB), 2 Relay Banks (RB), 1 Emergency Bank (EB), 25 Emergency / Relay Banks (ERB)) distributed over all these 6 departments.The Bourgogne-Franche-Comté (BFC) region has 22 blood banks (16 DB, 4 EB, 2 ERB) distributed over all these 8 departments.The French reglementation requires the production of at least one control during the period of validity of the authorization (5 years).The aim of our work is to compare the results between these two regions.The study concerns 50 establishments of health with a blood bank (18 DB, 2 RB, 3 EB, 27 ERB).The remarks and discrepancies appearing on the inspection reports led to administrative decisions (recommendations, prescriptions, injunctions) according to the gravity and the presence of a legislative text.They were arbitrarily classified into 6 groups (blood bank staff, data computer system, transport, equipment, documents and non-updated agreement).97 remarks were collected in CVL, 71 in BFC, 169 discrepancies in CVL, 160 in CFB.The problems with blood bank staff dominate in both regions, followed by problems related to equipment and document.Injunctions are more frequent in CVL but for the same type than in BFC (blood bank staff and equipment).The results of the blood bank control of the 2 regions are quite comparable.The majority of anomalies have related with the blood bank staff.Injunctions are more frequent in CVL than in BFC.
Water is essential for life.Its importance for the physical health of the human body is common knowledge.This circumstance was and is one of the major reasons for the studies of the properties of water.During the last two decades, significant progress was made by these studies, and surprising results were reported.New insights were obtained by the discovery of a fourth phase of water (EZ water, high density water and low density water), by studies of the states of water in the biological cell and of so far unknown consequences of these findings, by development of alternative water models (dense water actually heavily discussed) and, as a major aspect, by application of concepts for investigations of the role of water as antioxydant.In this context, an ongoing discussion of hopes and dreams regarding physical and mental health and longevity is on the way.
Compared to cell-based protein synthesis, cell-free synthesis has a number of advantages, e.g. the short time from ORF to the translated protein.Compared to batch approaches, also the output (mg protein/ml) can be significanty higher.Both approaches need lysis of bacteria.If reliable, defined, reconstituted and very pure components are not available for cell-free protein synthesis, there is a need for optimized lysates.The present communication describes "Induced Lysis" optimization of such a lysate ("Induced Lysis").
The emission of biphotons from living matter has received great interest for the past 40 years.Human biophoton emission has been associated with high energy processes on cellular level and have also been suggested to reflect the organism's global state of health.Prompted by this background, the in vitro study presented here examined the effects of a specially constructed biophoton triggering device used for the vitalisation of organ-specific cell cultures.The vitalisation of the cells was done in two different approaches: (1) Tap water was vitalised by the photon triggering device and was then applied to the cell cultures and (2) the cell cultures were vitalised directly with the device.Although the water treated with the biophoton triggering device had no antioxidant properties, the addition of vitalised water to culture medium caused a concentration-dependent stimulation of the basal energy metabolism up to approximately 40 %.In contrast, a conventional red-light laser pointer did not show any stimulation of the cells with direct vitalisation.Moreover, the direct vitalisation of cell cultures as well as the addition of tap water, which was exposed to the biophoton triggering device, also stimulated cell regeneration/wound healing of connective tissue cells.In summary, the capability of the biophoton triggering device to influence (= stimulate) cultured organ-specific cells has been demonstrated in this study.The results also indicate that the role of biophotons in living matter might be much more essential than the actual scientific opinion suggests.
Wireless communication technologies like Mobile phone such as like 4G / 5G (LTE, UMTS, GSM) or DECT wireless home telephones or WI-FI are fully established These, mobile communication devices have been considered to emit only a radiation with low intensities when they are actively working and are placed near to the head. However, the safety aspects are not completely or clearly evaluated. To address this topic, we have already investigated the cellular effects of DECT base radiation and mobile phones (smartphones) an its vitality effects compensation by: electro-stress reduction systems (ERS). Connective tissue fibroblasts (cell line L-929) were exposed to the radiation of an actively transmitting DECT base radiation and commercially available mobile phone investigating the cell vitality reactions with and without two different ERS systems. Using a similar parallel incubator served a corresponding control of unexposed cell lines. All cell cultures were checked by measurements of the enzymatic activity of mitochondrial dehydrogenases by the color change of the sodium salt 2,3-bis[2-methoxy-4-nitro-5-sulfo-pheny]-2H-tetrazolium-5-carboxyanilide (XTT) in respect to the interesting cell vitality. The results from 2016 to 2018 clearly demonstrate that exposure to named radiating sources caused significantly reduced cell vitality by more than 50 % for non-thermal radiation first; secondly using ERS the cell vitality went back up to around 95 % an optimized ERS use related to the alternating field emitters and / or cell cultures. In 2015 to 2016 parallelly were made additional investigations to observe probable marginal variance by mass / weight changes with a measuring accuracy of ± 0.1 μg (= ± 0.0001 mg) using ERS offered surprising results: Approx. 6 μg mass / weight change repeatedly measured were registered bearing vertically this ERS to a so called “roller detector” and without them (no active radiation nearby). This results gave another proof method to define evidences on standard physics measurement methods, that and how (the modality) ERS device are able to minimize an “impact effect” of artificial man-made radiations; not only by for instance human cell line tests. Hence the measured 6 μg mass change caused a calculable “equivalent energy” using the well-known EINSTEIN formula E = m • C2 (5,4 • 108 Joule), extracted to 1-meter distance related to 1 KG weight this could be 5,4 • 108 Watt seconds equivalent energy (alternating fields interacting by ERS use for instance energy absorptions or else). These calculations lead to correlations between this “equivalent energy” and formula findings like the induction law LENZ’s rule plus so-called LORENZ FL or COULOMB FC forces too. Besides 90° vertical to radiation sources placement of ERS elements gets its maximum “beneficial” effect on man-made electro-magnetic field sources (hint: compare this with inducti on law, LENZ’s rule). In other words: The observed mass changes using an “beneficial” ERS but having no electromagnetic field changes seems to be highly bio research relevant; specially in relations to humans or human cell vitality effects as well as a suggested living things health impact correlator (like a scale or threshold level). Thus, therefore it can be assumed that there could be a transmission wave or transmission medium that probably exists alongside or connected to electromagnetic HERTZ waves (no measurable effects) having the observed cell vitality or mass change findings. In order to investigate these relationships in more detail, it is proposed that the development of future integrated circuits should always be compared in an immersive manner just making parallel checks of their effect on bio-living systems or (like humans or animals) cell cultures as well.
Neutrophils are the most abundant type of granulocytes in most mammals. They possess a dual role as phagocytes and as proinflammatory cells [1]. By being present in the bloodstream, they form the first line of cellular defense against invading microbial pathogens as an essential part of the innate immune system. Moreover, neutrophils are the first responders of inflammatory cells which migrate towards the site of inflammation [2-6]. Similar to macrophages, neutrophils attack microbial pathogens by activating a so-called respiratory or oxidative burst which is independent from energy-producing metabolic processes and involves the catalytic conversion of dimolecular oxygen into superoxide anion radicals by the NADPH oxidase complex [7]. Secondarily, also other strong oxidizing agents with potent antimicrobial properties are generated. However, reactive oxygen species have been increasingly recognized as important components of intracellular signaling [8]. Prompted by this background we investigated the effect of a novel immune chip (= Energy Cell) on the growth characteristics and the oxidative burst of cultivated human promyelocytes which have been differentiated to functional neutrophils in corresponding cultures without and with exposure to the Energy Cell. Materials and Methods Description of the Energy Cell Basically, the Energy Cell is influenced by frequency spectra that are generated by special frequency generators. With the so-called vital field technology, electromagnetic fields (up to 120 GHz), microcurrent frequencies (up to 1 GHz) and different magnetic fields are generated via special antennas. The Energy Cell is placed on these antennas and exposed to the specific frequencies for a definite time period. Due to its storage properties, the chip is able to record this information and release it over several months. In the case of the Energy Cell, the stored frequencies of specific immune cells were used and the chip was exposed to this pattern in order to achieve the desired result. This patented information store is manufactured using a special process after years of development work. A precisely defined proportion of high-quality storage media is poured into a particularly skin-friendly silicone base. This makes it possible to conserve the effect of these frequency spectra as long as possible. The experiments were conducted with cultivated human promyelocytes which were directly exposed to a novel immune chip during their 6-day differentiation period to functional neutrophils. The same cells, but without the immune chip (= Energy Cell), served as corresponding controls. The samples were cultivated in the same incubator, but separated from each other by several layers of aluminum foil. After differentiation, the growth characteristics, and the oxidative burst of the functional neutrophils without and with exposure to the Energy Cell were examined. Altogether, 5 independent experiments on different days were conducted. In comparison to the untreated controls, the Energy Cell caused an increased cell number by 17.2 ± 3.8% and an increased cell diameter by 9.5 ± 0.2% (mean values ± standard deviations; p ≤ 0.05). Moreover, the basal cell metabolism of the functional neutrophils as well as the generation of superoxide anion radicals was also increased by 23.0 ± 5.5% and 21.3 ± 6.2%, respectively (mean values ± standard deviations; p ≤ 0.05). The results suggest that use of the Energy Cell might be able to cause an improved defense against microbial pathogens.
Objective: The aim was to identify factors influencing patient motivation for cancer treatment to obtain information for the realization of satisfactory survivorship. Methods: A 44-item questionnaire survey was conducted with cancer patients attending three university hospitals in Japan between September 2015 and January 2016. The relationships of patient motivation for treatment with patient background factors (cancer type, sex, age, performance status, treatment content, and family environment), treating physician’s judgment, physical/emotional symptoms, impact on job (work or housework, job performance), and economic status were investigated. Results: Completed questionnaires were collected from 969 patients (response rate, 88.4%).A multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that treating physician’s judgment to recommend the patient to receive treatment (odds ratio [OR] = 1.88, p = 0.049) and patient concern about disease progression (OR = 1.39, p = 0.007) were significantly correlated with greater patient motivation for treatment. Impact on job (being unable to work or do housework as before) (OR = 0.38, p = 0.011) and economic status (reduced patient income) (OR = 0.39, p = 0.023) were significantly correlated with lower patient motivation for treatment. Conclusion: This is the first study of patients with a wide range of cancer types to explore factors influencing patient motivation for treatment. Four influencing factors were identified. The transition from suction-type deglutition to dental-type deglutition needs to occur spontaneously between 3 and 4 years of age, but the genetic information for this is not expressed systematically. Cigarette smoking which is one of the main causes of preventable death globally, is due to a combustion process with temperatures up to 900 °C which yield several thousands of more or less harmful compounds.Therefore, heating of tobacco at temperatures at around 300 °C instead of burning tobacco might be less harmful.The present study was designed to investigate the possible differences in acute inhalation toxicity between a tobacco heating device with different flavours in comparison to burning a conventional tobacco cigarette.Tobacco heating stick extracts were generated by using a Borgwaldt LM4E smoking machine according to the Coresta method no.81 together with a cellulose filter and an elution with phosphate-buffered saline.For a concentional tobacco cigarette a manual procedure was used.Cultivated human lung cells (cell line A-549) were exposed as (1) submerged cultures and ( 2) by an aerosol of the extracts at the air-liquid interface.The results clearly demonstrate that heating of tobacco by use of different flavoured tobacco heating sticks is significantly less harmful to the lung cells than burning tobacco as done with a conventional tobacco cigarette.Thus, we conclude that heating of tobacco instead of burning it might be an alternative for those who cannot quit smoking, but are seeking for a possibility to reduce unwanted health effects.
Since decades physical, meteorological, medical studies were made independently around the earth's atmosphere, weather.Evidences for the existence and causes of human meteorosensitivity were able to be collected only epidemiologically.A recently completed investigation part I (2012 until 2014) in mood disorders via 73 weather-sensitive subjects contained medical history form surveys and approximately 16 months days of accountancy.As part II furthermore times were made physical / TCM short-term reaction measurements over 46 separate organ heath constitutions.This study part included a total of 90 volunteers with and without a synthetically nature copied "nice weather electro-magnetic alternating field exposure (named sferics) which was emitted during locally given different bad meteorological weather condition times.As a result of the study allows the following thesis: The three majors described in the literature meteorological parameters air temperature, humidity and air pressure are probably not the only trigger factors for negative mood disorders by biotropic weather conditions for humans.This was confirmed by bio-statistical data analyzes having all volunteers sorted six groups each 15 probands.
Water is a tasteless, odorless, and nearly colorless chemical substance that is the main constituent of most living organisms. On the other hand, water posesses a number of unique properties which can be explained by natural science only insufficiently. This present study used current cell biological methods to investigate whether tap water, after passing through an unique AO water activator, has received and stored informations that induce beneficial health effects. The effects of AO water on cultured cells (connective tissue fibroblasts and functional neutrophils) were directly compared with the initial tap water without activation. The results show an increased dose-dependent basal metabolic activity for both cell types and an increased regeneration/wound healing process for connective tissue fibroblasts when treated with AO water in comparison to initial tap water. Thus, AO water has clearly demonstrated its beneficial efficacy in relationship to cell metabolism, cell regeneration and front-line defense against invading (microbial) pathogens.
