
Throughout the development of fabrication laboratories (Fab Labs), the management capabilities of these spaces through the significant contribution of open design (OD) framework have been evident. An approach to the fab labs from the ecosystem perspective has enabled us to define a framework for OD essential drivers and the possibility of particular ecosystem units. This study applies this perspective in an emerging innovation network of Fab Labs in T & uuml;rkiye as a case study and explores how Fab Labs operate through the ecosystem units in the case of Izmir. The methodology is composed of field survey and observations in Fab Labs, snowball sampling with internal and external actors, and in-depth interviews. The findings reveal three main units, creating a multi-layered structure for ecosystem management through the integration of OD.
Social media strategies (SMS) play an important role in driving organisational change (OC) and promoting organisational sustainability (OS) by fostering transparent communication, engaging stakeholders, and building an innovative culture. This study attempts to explore the nexus among SMS, organisational change, and organisational sustainability from China based on the technology acceptance model (TAM). The outcomes were obtained by applying structural equation modelling using SmartPLS. First, a positive connection between SMS and change management was observed. Likewise, the study confirmed a positive correlation between SMS and organisational sustainability. The study provides insights into SMS and how these SMS can dynamically bring change and optimise organisational sustainability.
In recent years, the increasing frequency and severity of natural disasters - including wildfires, earthquakes, floods, hurricanes, and pandemics - have posed significant threats to human lives and infrastructure. Effective disaster management requires timely decision-making and efficient mechanisms for information collection, processing, storage, and dissemination among governments, organisations, and the public. However, existing disaster information systems often suffer from limited interoperability and insufficient coordination among stakeholders. Ontologies have emerged as a promising approach to address these challenges by enabling semantic interoperability, knowledge sharing, and data integration across heterogeneous systems. This study presents a comprehensive literature review of ontologies developed for natural disaster and emergency management. It aims to identify existing research gaps and examine their practical application domains. A systematic review of the Scopus database (2010-2022), conducted in accordance with PRISMA guidelines, initially identified 1,596 publications. After rigorous screening, 61 articles were selected, describing 61 distinct ontologies applied across preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation phases of the disaster management cycle.
The purpose of this study is to present a conceptual model for the formation of adaptive human capital as a foundation of the knowledge-based economy. The paper outlines the authors' approach to substantiating this model, which comprises three key components: enhancing the digital educational environment, managing the professional development of teachers, and implementing state regulatory measures in the sphere of online education. The study analyses indicators reflecting both the conditions for accessing online educational services and the corresponding needs of the Russian population. Furthermore, it examines the structure of the online education market in Russia, focusing on commercial online technologies used in secondary and higher education, as well as the EdTech segment of supplementary education for adults and for children of school and preschool age. In addition, the paper identifies the main quality-related challenges of the online educational environment and proposes measures to mitigate them.
Nowadays, solutions of automotive troubleshooting include adding the collaboration of different-domain specialists to deal with complex troubles. They mean altering the demands and activities for troubleshooting. Therefore, it is vital that schematic models to assist multi-domain specialist collaboration for making decisions. There are several goals revealed in this research: 1) formalisation - to promote the interaction and sharing of knowledge among different specialists and technicians, knowledge of field terms is formalised using a logical formalism, e.g., conceptual graphs; 2) management - to assist various domain specialists for collaboration in decision making, model of multi-domain knowledge management is developed by applying evidence theory; and 3) inference - to solve new troubles, an adjusted rule induction mechanism is used. It is on the basis of the solutions of similar previous instances and synthesising the specialists' experience and knowledge. The presented method is utilised for the troubleshooting service of the demonstrative instance investigation.
In order to enhance the standard of educational delivery in open online educational offerings at higher education institutions social network analysis (SNA) is introduced to carry out an Investigation into the factors that impact educational instruction quality of open online educational offerings at higher education institutions. Firstly, the elements that influence the teaching standard of college open digital coursework are analysed, the relevant hypotheses are put forward, the conceptual model of the factors influencing educational excellence in college accessible online learning opportunities is constructed, and then the questionnaire is designed to demonstrate the hypotheses. The empirical results show that the rapport between educators and learners, network cohesive subgroups and network density have a significant impact on the teaching standard of college open online educational offerings at institutions of higher learning, namely colleges and universities can improve the teaching quality of online open courses by optimising the network structure, expanding the network scale, and promoting the interaction and communication among users.
This study examines startup AI adoption and its effects on business-to-business collaboration, competitiveness, and organisational success, as well as AI adoption best practices and issues. The quantitative study uses a cross-sectional survey of 350 Indian startups by industry and factor and regression analyses to explain AI activities. The analysis found that AI is pervasive, boosting competitive advantage through cost reductions and innovation. AI startups that reduce costs, scale, and improve operations are most likely to succeed. AI's ability to improve customer experience and boost business growth boosts growth and innovation. A strategy plan can overcome high deployment costs, untrained talent, and integration complexity using cost efficiency, talent recruitment, and a good integration process. The report examines how firms may utilise AI to reduce costs, improve process efficiency, and boost customer service to grow. The study's cross-sectional design and lack of longitudinal data to track AI's dynamic effects and changes hinder it.
This study investigates the strategic impact of big data adoption and analytics on organisational performance, with a specific focus on the telecommunications sector in a developing economy. Addressing a key gap in the extant literature, it proposes an integrated framework assessing how big data technologies influence financial and operational outcomes, as well as exploratory and exploitative innovation (EPI) capabilities. A quantitative research design was employed, using structured questionnaires distributed among senior and mid-level managers of telecommunications firms actively engaged in analytics. Structural equation modelling (SEM) was used to empirically validate the conceptual model. Results indicate that big data analytics (BDA) significantly enhance decision-making and forecasting, which subsequently improve financial and operational performance. Big data adoption fosters exploratory and EPI, explaining the variance in organisational performance. Innovation and decision-making emerge as critical mediators in translating data capabilities into competitive advantage. Practical implications emphasise continued investment in analytics infrastructure and human capital development.
Sharing knowledge has become essential for organisational success in the knowledge-driven economy of today. Organisations are using enterprise social networks (ESNs) more and more to encourage knowledge exchange among their staff members. The incentive of individuals to share their knowledge is just one of several elements that affect knowledge sharing behaviour (KSB) on ESN. In order to promote KSB on ESN, this study investigates the function of motivation. The study discovers that motivation considerably moderates the association between KSB and ESNs using survey data from 405 operational personnel working in the telecom industry. In order to match motivation and KSB on ESNs, organisations might use customised incentive schemes. Furthermore, theoretical foundation of the study is Social Capital theory, in order to effectively accept cultural variations, multinational organisations may need to consider a variety of motivational approaches from different countries. The research adds to the expanding body of studies that emphasises the significance of motivation in predicting knowledge-sharing behaviour and linkages within ESNs.
E-learning is widely preferred by universities of higher education throughout the globe. However, the success of users/learners in e-learning settings is concerning. Evaluation in e-learning is challenging as it relies on metrics that accurately reflect user behavior and effort. The goal of this research is to develop a smart autonomous e-Learning platform that analyses users' behavior. The data was collected in 450 university learners from throughout Malaysia, using SmartPLS software. The study proposed a deep learning approach of the convolutional auto encoder (CA) for predicting the learners' activity in the platform. Initially, deep neural networks and activities heatmaps are used to examine user engagement with traditional e-learning pages and a timelines tool. The learners' flow status is then determined by additionally factoring in their scores. The experimental findings show that the proposed CA performs outperforms machine learning models in assessing knowledge levels.
Digitisation of education has embarked upon creative waves of transformation in educational pursuits. The study tends to address the behavioural changes induced among students who are engaged in online classes. The proposition of the paper is that digital implements would augment the learning capabilities of the students and lead to higher quantum of satisfaction. We administer the technology acceptance model (TAM) to analyse as to how digitisation is revolutionising the educational firmament. The findings empirically provide academic rigour to TAM and provide fruitful implications in conducting online classes. The striking realm of the study is to infuse Albert Badura's social learning theory with TAM and provides a fecundate perspective to the implications. The findings posit digitisation as a boon and indispensable strategy for educational institutions to achieve positive offshoots of educational goals. The results endorse for educational institutions to alloy digital mediums for transpiring educational goals leading to immersive educational services.
Knowledge management (KM) is pivotal for enhancing higher education in emerging markets, fostering innovation, improving decision-making, and increasing institutional efficiency. This study investigates the implementation of KM practices in higher education institutions (HEIs) in the UAE, comparing practices between private and public universities. KM practices were assessed across four dimensions: communication, training and mentoring, KM policy and strategy, and knowledge capture. A total of 416 self-administered questionnaires were utilised to determine the extent of KM practice adoption in UAE HEIs. The findings indicate that all four dimensions are implemented as KM practices in UAE HEIs, with communication being the most frequently practiced activity in both private and public universities. Notably, there are differences in KM practices between private and public universities, with public universities exhibiting a higher degree of training and mentoring, KM policy and strategy, and knowledge capture. Additionally, the study reveals a correlation between the four dimensions. The research concludes with implications, limitations, and recommendations for further study.
This study aims to discover how attitudes can moderate the positive impacts of using online learning platforms. The structural equation model (SEM) examined the causal relationships between the dependent, mediating, and independent variables. The model was developed and tested using data from an online distance learners (ODL) survey administered during COVID-19 in China, which yielded 468 valid surveys. It was found that students' attitude is the intervening factor mediating the relationship between positive impacts and the tendency to use online learning platforms among international students in China. According to the findings, attitude plays a significant role in shaping the students' intentions toward using online learning platforms in China. It will also enable ODL institutions to create top-notch online learning environments that better meet students' needs and give them the desired advantages.

Companies must focus on activities like hiring, orientation, training, performance monitoring, rewarding excellence, fostering a good work environment, and ensuring employee satisfaction. Monitoring organisational progress helps in identifying issues and developing growth strategies. Emerging fields such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, robotics, Internet of Things (IoT), and sensor networks have transformed work quality and quantity. Intelligent machines, capable of decision-making and mimicking human behaviour, are increasingly used in various fields, including business. This study analyses AI's impact on human capital, supported by experimental observations.
The knowing-in-practice notion considers the entanglement between knowing and doing. Taking into consideration the role and path of the academic manager in higher education, this study aims to comprehend the journey of knowing of academic managers in the light of knowing-in-practice notion. A praxiography was developed in a community university located in southern Brazil, through 47 semi-structured interviews, 288 h of participant observation, and 16 documents. The journey of knowing is accomplished as academic managers deal with previous experiences with management and present their first connections with management (seeds of knowing). They evolve as managers through comprehension conditions, decision making and problem solving, depending on interpersonal relationships, power issues and sociomateriality (blossoming of knowing). Lastly, they withdraw from management (back to the soil), in which succession issues, the resumption of academic activities and future management reconnections are considered. Such stages interact with the nature of the manager and professor roles.
In the evolving landscape of education, personalised learning (PL) has gained prominence as a methodology that adapts educational practices to fulfil unique needs and the integration of technology customises it. Therefore, this research aims to gain insight into integrating technology to enhance learning outcomes by meditating on metacognition awareness (MA) between technology assistance learning platforms (TALP) and PL. This study employed the method of cross-sectional analysis among the graduates and used a simple random technique. The sample size of the research is 272, which is administered through a questionnaire from undergraduate and postgraduate students across select Arts & Science Colleges in Chennai City. The SMART PLS 4.1.0.6 software is used for the structural equation modelling (SEM) analysis. The study's findings demonstrate that TALP significantly improves PL directly and that MA partially mediates the association between TALP and PL.
Hybrid approaches blending craft practices and digital technologies are beginning to flourish in finding solutions to global problems. In this study, we compare and report recent design literature and practice-based projects indicating craft approaches from Turkey and the UK in thematic order to discuss them in terms of the creative economy, sustainability, collaborations and technologies used. This study aims to reveal the differences and similarities in technology integration into craft practices, based on the cultural and local dynamics of the geographies in question, with the help of examining a selection of practise-based projects. Derived from the findings of this particular study, there are differences in policy-making, support and funding opportunities, and the relationship of crafts with innovation which affect the integration of digital technologies. These findings will lead to further research focusing on the use of technology to achieve the potential of crafts in the context of contemporary design.
