Estos emplean metáforas musicales audaces e inusuales que aluden a su contenido sexual. La presencia del hápax y de las audaces anfibologías, junto con un uso sutil pero preciso de la terminología musical griega y sus termini technici, proporciona un buen conocimiento de la técnica musical y de las mencionadas alusiones sexuales.
Love is the most prominent emotion in the ancient Greek novel, but before it becomes a source of joy in the happy endings characteristic of the genre, it poses significant challenges for the protagonists. Furthermore, within the narrative structure of Greek novels, other emotions-particularly the affection and malevolence of secondary characters-play pivotal roles in shaping the intrigue. This paper explores how anger (opyij) and compassion (2co & varsigma;) emerge, their impact on the narrative development of Xenophon's Ephesiaca, and how they contribute to the characterization of those who experience them.
This paper addresses contentious line 35 of Hesiod's Theogony. It is fair to say that there is no scholarly agreement regarding the denotation of line 35. I first consider various previous interpretations and examine important archaic hexametric comparanda. Thereafter, I provide a new interpretation of line 35.

This note re-evaluates a proposal by Dain for the second strophe ofthe parodos in Sophocles' Oedipus Coloneus (176-87), likely affected by a lacuna. The author aims to highlight the critical value of Dain's suggestion, which has been largely overlooked. Dain's proposal would greatly enhance the emotional impact of Oedipus' struggle, as he painfully traverses the stage, relying on his daughter for support.

El amor es el sentimiento prevalente en la novela griega antigua, pero este sentimiento, antes de ser motivo de felicidad en el happy end con que concluye cualquiera de los relatos del género, constituye un verdadero problema para los protagonistas. Además, en el tejido narrativo de las novelas griegas concurren otros sentimientos y emociones que involucran sobre todo a otros personajes secundarios cuyos afectos y malquerencia también son determinantes en intriga de la narración. Este trabajo tiene por objeto analizar en qué contextos y situaciones se producen manifestaciones de ira (...) y de compasión (...) cómo inciden en el desarrollo narrativo de Efesíacas de Jenofonte de Éfeso y en qué medida contribuyen a la caracterización de quienes los experimentan.
The author proposes to transpose Catul. 2.11-13 after 2.8, supporting Heinsius’ emendation of mihi to sibi at 2.11, and provides a fully edited text of the poem, and suggests transposing 3.16-18 after 3.12.
