The Department of Education's proposal to reclassify advanced nursing education as non-professional carries clear workforce and care-delivery implications. Prompt action is required to prevent additional strain on nurse training pathways and the health care services that rely on them.
This study developed and validated the 24-item Blood Glucose Measure-ment Knowledge Scale to assess blood glucose measurement knowledge in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Findings indicate that higher knowledge levels lead to better glycemic control, improving disease management, reducing health care costs, and enhancing workforce productivity.

The educational initiative addressed the financial literacy gap through collaboration with financial planning professionals, with delivered targeted instruction on personal finance topics.
During nursing education, students are taught to think critically and prioritize, which helps them develop their reasoning skills in complex situations. This enables them to cope with complex clinical situations after graduation and make safe, accurate, and effective decisions in patient care. The purpose of this article is to study the "eComplex" scale, developed for general university students and nursing students to assess their complex reasoning abilities, and to present first results in the literature. In the current study, the item clarity of the scale was first verified in a pilot study with 25 students. Validity and reliability analyses were then conducted on 459 students. The scale's Cronbach's alpha value was 0.959, the Content Validity Index (CVI) value was 0.823, the Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) value was 0.962, and the Bartlett test value was p < 0.000. In factor analyses, the fit indices were within the acceptable/excellent fit range. The scale, consisting of four sub-dimensions and 25 items, was found to be valid and reliable. Students' complexity reasoning competencies had a mean score of 88.11 +/- 17.19 and varied according to age, gender, family type, high school of graduation, and work status during education.
A cross-sectional survey collecting data from health care students from three European nations was performed to explore the factors influencing financial literacy in a context where students attend a public university. Financial literacy is lacking, which suggests the need for education to help the next generation of health care professionals deal with increased challenges in the financial health care sector and promote financial education among patients, families, and communities.
The COVID-19 pandemic prompted a shift from traditional clinical placements to virtual simulation-based education (VSBE). This study aimed to evaluate the clinical decision-making and diagnostic reasoning skills of final-year nursing students in the post-pandemic era through a cost-conscious lens, addressing both educational outcomes and economic feasibility. Strategic investments in VSBE platform stability and hybrid models may further enhance both economic value and clinical.
Nursing has historically been viewed as an institutional cost rather than a contributor to economic and health outcomes in health care systems. This article advocates for a shift in that perception by providing a business rationale and implementation steps for organizations to recognize nursing's economic and health value. Five innovative strategies to drive this transformation are outlined, as well as five practical steps to achieve it. By reframing nurses as a central component of both clinical and financial outcomes, this article presents a framework for nurse practice leaders to strategically lead this paradigm shift.
This policy analysis investigates options to improve nurse practitioner (NP) training and downstream NP primary care retention through government funding. With attention to health care costs, quality, and access, the authors consider endorsement of post-graduate training programs and modification of current NP training.
Nursing retention has become a critical issue, particularly in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has exacerbated turnover rates and created staffing shortages in health care settings. In response to rising turnover rates, nurse leaders in an acute care organization implemented strategies to foster a protective work environment, focused on supporting new graduate registered nurses' transition into the workforce.
