Culture is one of the most important genes for a nation. As Cultural mascots, FuWa and HaiBao spread around the brilliant and long history of Chinese culture as well as friendship and goodwill from Chinese to the people all over the world. Through analyzing the denotation and connotation of mascot, founding the identical of coding, this article aims at revealing that mascot is charming when they connect the tradition characteristics and universal values together. And only in this way, the mascots will undertake the significant missions of transmitting the Chinese culture, boosting communication between different regions and reshaping the image of China in cross-cultural communication.
The author conducted a research among 500 college students with self-designed questionnaires. The results are listed as followed. (1)Questionnaires for Cognitive Strategies Adopted by University Students in Reading Comprehension are very reliable and effective. It could be used to measure college students’ cognitive strategy used in reading comprehension. (2)There is a significant difference between genders in overall reading strategy, integrated strategy and passive strategy; and there is a significant difference between higher reading achievers and lower reading achievers in the total grades of questionnaire, overall reading strategy, relations strategy and passive strategy. (3)College students’ reading grades are highly related to overall reading strategy, relations strategy and passive strategy.

There is a rich dialectics in the establishment and development, the basic concept, and the basic thoughts of calculus. Understanding calculus, a branch of higher mathematics, deepens the understanding of dialectics thoughts. This paper probed into the embodiment of dialectics in calculus, in order to achieve a deeper understanding of dialectics purpose.
This article is a review of the study of mechanical industry of modern China for nearly 50 years. It defines the mechanical industry, prescribes a limit to the scale of the study. It lists the historical data collections and academic books and articles of this area, indicating that the historical data collections are better than the academic books and articles. The study of mechanical industry of modern China faces the inborn difficulty as the lack of historical data. And the solution is to discover more historical data and to adapt more theories.
With economic and social development, tourism development and industry restructuring, the water environment quality of Erhai basin faced severe challenges. It was found from the comprehensive analysis of the whole basin’s pollution source that the proportion of agricultural pollution source is up to 70% in the lake eutrophication. Nitrogen and Phosphorus are the main pollution source, which mainly comes from fertilizer and animal manure. This paper analyzes the characteristics of non-point source pollution from Erhai basin, trying to discuss the controlling measures on sewage from the four fields on domestic sewage, domestic fowl and livestock farming, crop farming, water and soil erosion.

This paper analyzed Outsider idealistic tendency from three levels. The first level interpretation of the protagonist in the emotion、faith and in the course of the trial court was shown the absurd to reveal its inherent poetry. The second level is the comparison of Outsider and Border Town ideal tendencies, through the Border Town idealistic tendency to supplement discussion of an outsider with a different expression of idealism. The third level is to analyze the Outsider in the philosophical implication, in order to prove their idealistic pursuit.

We should learn from history and use it to guide us to comprehend the text. Meanwhile, we should understand the true meaning of the present practical significance.

The Audio-lingual Approach, as one of the traditional foreign language teaching(FLT) approaches, has played an important role in the history of FLT. However, with the development of FLT, many modern FLT theories and approaches have come into being, the Notional-functional Approach is one of them. This paper will introduce the theoretical basis and teaching methods of both the Audio-lingual Approach and the Notional-functional Approach, list the merits and drawbacks of each approach, and make a comparison between them. In the end, the writer tries to discuss whether the Notional-functional Approach to FLT should be used as a replacement to the traditional approaches such as the Audio-lingual Approach or as a supplement to them in the practical FLT process.

So the author of this thesis reviews and researches such a mechanism in light of advance legislation in western countries from four prospects including the subject of the collection, the process of the collection, the reveal of information and the legal responsibility of proxy solicitation.
With the increasing economic and cultural exchanges between different countries, practical translation and translation studies on this subject field has drawn more attention than ever from scholars. Parallel model and analysis model proposed by Germany functionalist translation scholar Christiane Nord have proved to be applicable to practical translation. This paper attempts to compare these two models through a practical text as an example. The comparison and aim to present to translators the strengths and limitations of these two models so that they can apply both two appropriately to translation practice.
