The recent advancement in reproductive technology has provided newer opportunities to conceive naturally through Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART), which entails financial and emotional costs as well as complications. The choice to opt for ART involves complex processes which not only involve the couple but also their families, social structure and cultural norms. In many cultures including India, having one’s biological child is given prime importance due to the social, religious and cultural norms associated with the notion of motherhood and parenthood. In such a scenario, giving birth to a progeny becomes the obvious next stage post marriage for a woman. The social aspect of complete womanhood being achieved by birthing a child takes precedence in the married woman’s life at the expense of her career and productivity. This study tries to understand how the pursuance of a professional career gets affected while opting for ART, role of spousal support and family support in pursuance of a professional career while pursuing ART and how fertility choices of women affect their contribution to the labour market as they prioritize reproductive labour over career.
The prime role of financial statements is to provide information that is useful to existing and potential investors, creditors and other users in making rational investment and similar decisions. Accounting information is a product of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), standards and other institutional settings which are presumed to shape the form and content of the financial reports. Uniform accounting standards assist investors and other market participants to effectively analyze firms from countries with accounting standards that they are familiar with and that IFRSs are adopted in order to achieve information of higher quality than local standards. Value relevance is one of the most common methods of examining the quality of accounting information. Information has the quality of relevance when it influences the economic decisions of users. This study examined value relevance of accounting information after the mandatory IFRSs adoption in the Nigerian Banking industry. Correlational research design using pre-and-post IFRSs regime analysis in a sample of 15 banks for a period of 8 years (2008-2015) was employed. Panel regression technique of data analysis was used and the study found that the adoption of IFRS has significantly improved the value relevance (decision usefulness) of accounting information of deposit money banks in Nigeria during the period covered by the study. However, the results show that the adoption of IFRS improves the value relevance of book values of equity and accounting earnings significantly. We recommend that accounting regulators should investigate the implementation credibility of IFRS in the Nigerian banks.

Shared leadership as a modern management approach provides the structure and framework for innovational thinking within creative working places. China's swift ascent as one of the foremost global players, coupled with its aspirations to become an innovation leader, makes a reevaluation of traditional organizational structures and leadership paradigms necessary. Research on the application of modern management approaches such as shared leadership, within the context of Chinese culture is notably underrepresented and needs to be further focused on. Using a literature review methodology, this study delves into the book "A Short History of Chinese Philosophy" to check on relevant text passages and aspects derived from various original schools of thought within traditional Chinese ideologies. Subsequently, these aspects are categorized as either pro or con arguments and reinterpreted through the lens of shared leadership readiness. Seven affirmative arguments and seven opposing arguments judge the application of shared leadership ideas embedded in Chinese traditional values and philosophies. Taoism, particularly in its third phase and Neo-Taoism stand as representative examples favoring shared leadership. Conversely, Realistic Confucianism and the Mohist School serve as representatives against the adoption of shared leadership. One limitation of the re-interpretation lies in the potential for misunderstanding the original Chinese traditional values which may not have been intended for application within the context of modern management approaches, potentially resulting in wrong conclusions. Additionally, relying solely on one source to depict the history of Chinese philosophy constitutes another limitation, as it simplifies the complexity of Chinese traditions. Follow-up studies could focus on constructing a robust theoretical framework. Another significant contribution could involve the development of a survey aimed at assessing the extent of influence exerted by the original schools of thought on traditional Chinese individuals.
Leadership is a topic of increased interest over the past decades and adjustments were made on this level because of different generations appearing in the labor market. In detail, different reactions to the question, which power related resources are recognized the most in the respective work environment, are compared. These reactions are derived from semi-standardized interview material. The results show that legality, which stands for the power due to position, is still the most recognized resource. But also, a trend from Baby Boomer generation to generation Y can be derived and due to this, the anticipation is made that the mentioned resource will be less important in the future. Therefore, upcoming employees will be more open to a wider understanding over power possession in companies which means: to have power in a company does not necessarily include a leadership position.
The COVID-19 pandemic has brought attention to workplace flexibility and its potential impact on employee psychological safety, particularly among Generations Y and Z in Germany. This study combines primary and secondary research, including a survey of 320 respondents experienced in flexible work. Surprisingly, no clear positive or negative correlation between New Work models and psychological safety was found, challenging common thinking. Four key recommendations emerge as a result: 1. Investigate specific respondent groups, 2. Focus on certain employee categories (e.g., roles or industries), 3. Solicit feedback from employees and 4. Provide training and education for affected employees. However, gender and education imbalances in the respondent pool hinder generalizability. Therefore, future research should target more specific groups like management students or those in digital professions. In conclusion, this study adds to the discourse on workplace flexibility and its impact on psychological safety. It underscores the necessity for targeted research to comprehend its effects on diverse employee segments.
In view of today´s dynamic business environment, shared leadership breaks with the classical leadership approaches by offering new possibilities of participation, active contribution and taking over responsibility for employees. Among other aspects, shared leadership certainly relies on highly motivated participants who are willing to implement this new leadership approach. This research study focuses on the motivational factors at work, attitude towards shared leadership and an implementation guideline for shared leadership in a Chinese culture context. This qualitative research is conducted by online-interviews of 10 Chinese citizens, supported by a semi-structured guideline. The results are inductively evaluated by Mayring´s procedure of qualitative content analysis. Regarding mentioned motivational factors, Chinese responses do not significantly differ from Western based literature. An ambivalent attitude towards shared leadership can be determined with transparent concerns that the Chinese participants have in mind. Nonetheless, chances and possible applications of shared leadership can be perceived which lead to a suggested step-by-step guideline, how to implement shared leadership in an existing organization. Among possible limitations, when evaluating the given responses, wishful thinking and reality should be considered. Furthermore, a restricted representativeness for Chinese society by convenience sampling should be noted. Follow-up studies could go further on quantitative researching with the collected impressions from this qualitative research. There could also be a longitudinal study to check for any changes of the attitude towards shared leadership.
Any education that is not qualitative enough would impose more danger to the learners and the society at large. This study examined managing the learning environment in schools for improved quality education. The secondary school was the focus while the principals were the target. The presentation of the meaning of learning environment and quality education was captured. The study also explained who the principal is and his responsibilities concerning the educational managerial conception. The study looked at the various components of the learning environment and how they could be managed to produce an acceptable learning environment and its implication in the post-COVID 19 eras. In the end, the paper concluded, among other things, that it is only when the principals are innovative, creative and proactive with their understanding of the learning environment that the desired quality education can be achieved.
