
Over the last 40 years, less attention has been paid toward the improvement in wastewater treatment technologies. This issue can be solved by paying much attention toward the use of sophisticated biological organisms or tools. Among potential microorganism, bacteriophages have immense potential to use them as biotechnological tools for industrial and drinking water sources. A more detailed understanding of the nature and interactions of wastewater microbial communities is needed in order to implement phage biocontrol efficiently in wastewater treatment. Strategies to tackle both host specificities and host cell resistance, as well as safety issues concerning the emergence of pathogen via transduction, must also be set out. In fact, the future use of the phage to control foaming is an environmentally sustainable and cost-effective solution to avoid these dangerous bacteria like V. Cholera, Shigella, Salmonella from entering rivers, ponds, and lakes. In comparison to other methods currently employed in wastewater installations, it is inexpensive, quick and environmentally safe to use programmed phage’s to regulate undesirable bacteria or prevent biofouling and foaming while maintaining additional useful ASP bacteria.
