
This study was conducted to analyze the effects of horticultural therapy program based on health care education on quality of life, stress, depression and anxiety of hypertensive patients, and to find effects on ability to control hypertension by continuing health care education and horticulture education. Subjects were 60 adult hypertension patients aged 30 to 64 at a hospital in K-gu, Seoul, aged 30 to 64. Experimental group of 30 patients received horticultural therapy program and control group of 30 patients did not receive horticultural therapy program. The horticultural therapy program was conducted for 60 minutes per session, twice a week, and total 8 times. This study was performed from 1. Aug. to 31. Oct. in 2015. Each session was based on contents of basic health care education and horticultural education. The programs were verified by 5 specialists in related fields (1 doctor, 2 nurses, 2 horticultural therapists). To prove effects of horticultural therapy program, patientsâ stress, depression, anxiety, quality of life and knowledge of hypertension and horticulture were estimated 3 times(before, after and 1 month after the experiment). SPSS (Version 22 for Windows) was used for t-test of independent sample, which analyzes demographic information and verifies homogeneity, and for t-test of matching sample which shows different effects between groups. As the results, horticultural therapy program based on health care education made significant positive effects on stress and quality of life of hypertensive patients. Moreover, the horticultural therapy program improved knowledge on horticulture and hypertension. However, there were no significant changes in control group. This result shows that the horticultural therapy program based on health care could relive stress and improve quality of life. The objective of this study was to investigate the current situations of farms in South Korea which provide care farming activities in order to develop and settle care farms. A questionnaire that includes 60 questions about resources, clients, management, background of establishment, budget, manpower, organization, etc. was developed by the researchers. The survey was conducted by email and phone interview in the period of July to August, 2016. Five farms were participated in this study. As the results, each farm had a different size of land, about 744 â 39,670 m2. The farms were classified by different types of farming activities such as cultivating horticultural crops or cultivating horticultural crops and raising animals. The background of farmers was health, special education, social welfare or professional farmer. The income sources were from care farming programs, educational program, and crop production. The participants in the care farm were children with or without disability, adolescents, adolescents with behavior problem, adults, adults with mental disability or developmental disability, mental illness, dementia, addict, etc. The major activities in care farms were plant cultivating, harvesting, garden maintenance, cooking by using harvest, crop processing, waling in the farm, caring for animals, dealing with farm work equipment, and farming activity with local residents, etc. The participation duration was 25% for one-day experience, less than two weeks in a week, and more than six months, respectively. To settle and develop care farming of South Korea, the concept, clients, operation, professional manpower, policy, support, etc. should be established. The traditional temple in the urban landscape is a place of historical and cultural heritage with ethnic values within the city. However, when viewed in a landscape perspective, several problems are implied. This is because the temple is restricted within the territories of the temple when there is a great need for space for gatherers and tourists. Thus, a dissimilar landscape planning and management system from the current traditional temple is required. In this study, the landscape of the traditional temple in the city viewed from Bongeunsa temple grounds was set as the study area and the representative viewpoints within the temple grounds were used as a base of describing the landscapeâs image and the factors of the landscape preference was also derived. These factors were then used as a base to create the landscape preference map for the region of Bongeunsa temple to present a visual representative of the place. The factors showed a significant impact on the landscape of Bongeunsa temple were selected to aesthetics, amiability and complexity. The higher the preference of these factors was, the higher the preference was for the landscape as well. The factors representing the landscape image and the landscape map according to the landscape preference of the temple were created to allow regions that showed both low and high levels in the landscape image and preference within the grounds to be visually classified and regions that needed improvements were also displayed. This study was conducted to investigate the influences of a horticultural activity program applying REBT group counseling on female marriage immigrants' self-expression and the degree of depression. The subjects that applied for the program are 14 persons. With them, 10 sessions in total were carried out for two hours per time on every Wednesday at the J. gun (County) Social Welfare Center from December 17, 2013 through February 25, 2014. To look into a result of a pre-test on homogeneity between the control group and the experimental group. For self-expression as a result of a t-test in the control group, there was no significant difference in the average (p=.825), t=0.42 (p>.05). For depression, in the control group, as a result of a t-test, there was no significant difference in the average (p=.142), t=-1.145 (p>.05). Wetlands are damaged or destroyed by natural processes or artificial interferences. In order to restore their function, it is desirable to establish conservation, restoration and management measures on the basis of comprehensively collected and analyzed data of natural ecosystem characteristics and damage conditions. The purpose is to provide an evaluation index that can reflect the biological and physical characteristics such as the inhabited wildlife, degree of terrestrialization, land use change, etc. Due to the evaluation index should be simplicity of measurement, applicability, and cost efficiency as well as useful for improving the new information is obtained, so we consider the physical and biological characteristics. In order to reflect the ecological integrity and qualitative aspects such as disturbance levels, suitability as biological habitats, etc., biodiversity (landscape units, wildlife inhabit), naturalness (biotope, basin ecosystem), rarity (major plant species emergence, major animal species inhabit), and potential for damage (distribution of pollutant by distance, degree of internal damage) was selected as an evaluation index. The conservation value of Hwapo (23 points) and Samrangjin wetland (21 points), which had low number of species and populations, was low due to high potential for damage like green house, bare land etc. On the other hand, Daepyeong (34 points) and Bacsil wetland (32 points), which have worthy biodiversity, showed high conservation value, while their own area was narrow, but the endangered wildlife (Cygnus cygnus, Anser fabalis, and Euryale ferox) was appeared. Habitat disturbances, such as reduced area or internal damage, can drastic changes at population, ecosystem, and community levels. Hwapo and Samrangjin wetland, which have high damaged potential, are included. The recoverability of wetland ecosystem functions depend on the resistance and regenerative power of the system itself, so maintaining integrity of biodiversity-rich wetlands will have priority over restoration. This study was implemented to verify effectiveness related to job stress, depression or fatigue of hospital workers, by let them wearing necklaces with essential oils injected which were extracted from herb plants, as an alternative therapy. For this study, totally 60 people were selected who work in K hospital located in D city, in accordance with their agreement with participation in, and who were divided into 30 and 30 for a control group and an experimental group as appropriate subjects. The study was followed for 2 weeks from June 29 of 2015 by July 10 of 2015, by letting the experimental group wearing essential oils necklaces with a distance of 20 cm from noses during working time for 8 hours per day. After inhaling essential oils by wearing the necklaces, the job stress status didnât have obvious difference between two groups statically, such as 104.1±11.3 points from 101.2±10.3 points for the control group and 104.7±9.8 points from 104.9±9.0 points for the experimental group. In case of the depression status, the control group had no difference such as 28.8±8.0 points from 29.4±9.0 points, and the experimental group had small decrease with 0.017 points such as 26.6±5.3 points from 28.5±5.6 points. In case of the fatigue status, the control group had no difference such as 75.7±19.7 points from 72.0±19.0 points, and the experimental group had small decrease with 0.049 points such as 64.3±20.0 points from 70.5±19.0 points. People today spend 80% of their time indoors and have been showing keen interests in air quality since 2015 due to harmful chemical issues such as humidifier disinfectants. Although plant-based air purification method is widely known to the public, its objective performance and air-conditioning efficiency have been limited. In particular, in the case of publicly used places frequented by many and unspecified persons, high air-conditioning wind volume is required and it is difficult to secure the required total wind volume with the current air purification method using plants. Therefore, in order to secure air-conditioning wind volume when linked with plants, this study aims to verify stability in using vegetation units that can be linked with building air-conditioning equipment. To this end, vegetation units and AHU were linked for 40 hours under no irrigation conditions and ecological environmental changes were monitored objectively. Pressure loss by total wind volume of vegetation units was verified, and soil moisture, Chlorophyll, and FVC were monitored. First, soil moisture was converged to 0% at a spot where wind volume is concentrated in vegetation units. In both of two types of tree species, chlorophyll showed a change of 1.2 - 2.9 SPAD and FVC showed a change of 4-29% after the experiment. before and after the test, and it seemed that the duration of the test was not long enough to observe changes in the stability of plant growth. These results are expected to provide basic data on the stability of plant growth for vegetation bio-filters, connected to AHUs in general buildings, of which filtering wind speed can be 20 times higher than that of existing vegetation bio-filters (lower than 0.1 m ・ sec -1 ). They are expected to be utilized as objective indicators of ecological performance in improving the air-conditioning efficiency of plants and soil-based bio-filters, and to contribute to enhancing the understanding of technologies related to air-conditioning in buildings. Still, there were some limitations in this study. The number of vegetation models and soil moisture sensors applied to this study was limited, and a sufficient length of time for disturbing the environment of plant growth was not secured in this study, which needs to be reflected in follow-up studies.
This study analyzed the placement shape and correlation of green space focusing on anion that is one of curing substances. As its result, it was found out that the meteorological element becomes different and the generated amount of anion also gets different along such different meteorological element in case the shape of placing green space. As the result of analyzing the correlation with meteorological element , it was analyzed that it was the positive correlation in case of time, temperature and relative humidity and it was also analyzed that it was negative correlation in case of wind velocity and amount of light. But, in case of wind velocity, it was considered that the further complement research is required as the sampling distribution was shown as so biased by the windproof effect of the trees planted at the outskirts of green space in case of wind velocity. Based on th analyzed results as above, it suggested the model of generating anion by implementing multiple regression analysis such as y = -2462.383 + 0.304x1 x 72.746x2 x 7.315x3 x 0.138x4 (x1; time, x2; air temperature, x3; relative humidity, x4; luminous intensity, R2; 0.691).
The purpose of this study was to examine the effectiveness of the forest healing program for improving the mental health of urban elderly people. Most participants were over 70 years old (87%) among total participants (46 people). The period was from May 5, 2015 to September, 4, 2015. During the experiment, research was stopped for one month due to the spread of Mers. The 46 subjects who were over 60 years old were divided into 4 groups by the number of participation (0, 4, 8, 12 times). Psychiatric tests and blood melatonin concentration test were performed before and after the experiment and the mean difference was determined by the corresponding sample t-test. Differences between the groups were analysed by ANOVA analysis. The change of melatonin concentration was examined by enzyme immunoassay. According to the result of the psychiatric test, mental health of the aged people who did not participate in the forest healing program was worse than 16 weeks ago. People who participated 4 times also had worse mental health. 8 and 12 times participated people showed improved mental health which indicate the need of long-term forest healing for mental health. The result of melatonin test showed that blood melatonin did not increase in the elderly people who did not participate, whereas blood melatonin of the elderly who participated for 12 times showed an increase tendency. This result is similar with the previous study, which suggested that melatonin can be increased by activity of body stimulation or mood change. In conclusion, we can say that forest healing programs have a positive effect on the mental health of elderly people. However, this study had several limitations. There is a need for follow-up studies to study age and individual differences, and to identify differences between periods.

The health problems of elderly people are burdened with social and economic burden. Along with the physical change of the elderly, the psychological stability and mental health measures of the elderly should be emphasized and adequate and sustainable social support for the elderly should be provided. A healthy lifestyle is an important factor that had been better in the elderly with a lively social relations determine these social links are physical activity, the ability of the elderly. Elderly people living in the facility tend to be depressed or self-esteemed by mental anxiety due to the transfer from the family to the facility. Therefore, we need a program to improve the self - esteem and depression of the elderly. If a non-single, self-integration program is provided to the elderly, the integration program consisting of nature-friendly contents will be familiar to the elderly and participation will increase. The program with the play is effective because it can give pleasure and laughter, and the nature-friendly integration program is applied. A natural-friendly integration program is an integration program of integrated forest healing, horticultural therapy, and play, based on an earlier paper on the effects of forest healing and plant-mediated horticultural therapy, Respectively. This study carried out to identify effect of horticultural therapy programs (HTP) on the changes of depression and self-esteem in released-convicts. HTP were conducted once a week total 4 times (each time 60 minutes) from 7 November to 28, 2016 on 13 released-convicts coming Korea rehabilitation agency Gwangju Jeonnam branch. Measurement methods were used scale of depression, scale of self-esteem, Form for evaluation of HTP. As a result, the mean value of depression was decreased to 11.2 after HTP compared with 17.4 before HTP and there was statistically significant difference (p=.013). And HTP in grade of self esteem was increased to 16.1 after HTP compared with 12.1 before HTP and there was statistically significant difference (p=.001). The result of this study indicated that the horticultural therapy programs has positive effects on depression and self-esteem in released-convicts. This study was conducted to analyze the relationship between planted plants and immigration plants by monitoring the wildflower garden constructed at Seoul Samgaksan Elementary School. The results of this study are as follows: First, plants planted in the garden 32 taxa, except for weakened only 1 taxa (Clematis patens), the remaining plants maintained or increased their populations. Among maintained Plants, that did not volume growth were 6 taxa and volume growth on the spot were 5 taxa. 15 taxa were spread around the planting area and 5 taxa spread sporadically to unpredictable areas other than the planting area. Although most of the planted plants show good growth, no special management is required, but Lonicera japonica needs the density management that cuts off the stem in the early spring and 5 sporadically spreading taxa, the planting intent of garden is attenuated, so remove the root when new leaves come out in spring. Second, the total number of plants transferred after 2 years of wildflower garden constructed were 83 taxa total, which is 2.6 times that of planted plants. The seed disseminule form was analyzed as 52% barochory, 27% anemochory&hydrochory, 16% autochory and 5% zoochory. Also about 43% of the transferred plants were estimated to been imported from soil seed bank. Third, we classified immigration plants into largely native plants and naturalized plants. The native plants were transferred to more than naturalized plants: 65 native plants, 1 cultivated plants and 17 (22%) naturalized plants. The results of the monitoring of the rooftop garden âChoroktteulâ in Seoul City Hall showed that there were differences in the type and number of the immigration plants depending on the distance and quality of the surrounding greenery. Fourth, the management method of immigration plants is divided into three categories: elimination, transplantation, and utilization. The 39 taxa were selected for the elimination: Invasive alien plants among naturalized plants, fast spreading plants, plants that expand sideways with rhizomes, and plants that interfere with the growth of planted plants: grow to over 1 meter in height and climbing plant. The elimination period should be dry, clear, windy day, remove the root without any residue. The transplanted plants are 18 taxa, tree, plants not suitable for habitat, and in elementary school textbooks. It is a group of 26 taxa which are used in the garden: for landscape that plants have ornamental values (flowers, leaves, and autumn colors etc.) but do not attenuate the intent of the garden, and for groundcover that plants have low plant height and fast spread. It is also possible to prevent immigration plants when you are mulching or planting plants densely populated areas when making a garden. This study was carried out to examine the effective wet harvesting solution for development of wet distribution system in standard chrysanthemum (Dendranthema grandiflorum) âBaekmaâ. The cut flowers were treated immediately in floral preservative solutions or dry condition after harvesting, and then the effects on quality of cut flower were compared. Also, we investigated the effects of NaOCl and sucrose on vase life and quality of cut flower. When the cut flowers were treated immediately in tap water, Chrysal OVB, Floralife, Hiflora solutions after harvesting, flower diameter and fresh weight of cut flower increased compared to dry condition treatment. In single treatment of 100 mgÎL-1 NaOCl as wet harvesting solution, flower diameter and fresh weight of cut flower increased more than other treatments, and vase life was prolonged to 1.5 days than control. But, flower diameter and fresh weight of cut flower decreased in 0 or 200 mgÎL-1 NaOCl. When the cut flowers were treated in combination solution of 100 mgÎL-1 NaOCl and 0.1% sucrose, the flower diameter was the largest by 9.8 cm, and fresh weight of cut flower was maintained the highest in holding solution. On the other hand, flower diameter and fresh weight of cut flower were lowest in combination solution of 100 mgÎL-1 NaOCl and 2.5% sucrose. There was no difference in vase life between treatments mixed with NaOCl and sucrose. Therefore, it was suggested that treatment mixed with 100 mgÎL-1 NaOCl and 0.1% sucrose as wet harvesting solution was the most effective for vase life and quality of cut flower in standard chrysanthemum âBaekmaâ. Effects of substrates, non-aggregated medium and Rootone on the rooting of spearmint (Mentha spicata), peppermint (Mentha à piperit) and catmint (catnip:Nepeta cataria) were investigate and results were as follow. Five types of substrate (saproilite (S), peatmoss (P), S:P 75:25, S:P 50:50, S:P 25:75v/v) were used as rooting media. In the rooting rate and number of roots, peppermint and catmint had higher values in saprolite with significant, but spearmint was shown the better result in S:P 25:75 mixed substrate than saprolite without significances. Root length of spearmint was promoted in mixed substrate of S:P 50:50 and 75;25, and catmint was better in saprolite substrate. Rooting rate and number of roots were shown more decreased in single peatmoss substrate and mixed substrate than saproilte. The effects of aggregated medium (S) and non aggregated medium (tap water) on the rooting of different stem part of mints were tested. Rooting and number of rooting of spearmint and peppermint in water medium were more increased than in saprolite medium. But catmint was not rooted in any medium. Rooting of upper parts with growing points was more increased than under part of stem, which was relative hardy. In Rootone treatments test on rooting of stem cuttings, all treatments very strongly promoted the rooting and number of roots not only in upper stems but also in under part of stem in saprolite and water medium. Rootone treatments (drying 10 minutes after dipping on wetted stem) was very effective in water medium. Especially catmint treated with Rootone promoted a root formation in water medium This research was clarified the possibilities of rooting on spearmint, peppermint, and catmint cuttings in water medium, when especially treated with Rootone. As an aquaculture effluent is recognized as a source of water pollution, many methods are being researched to solve this problem. It has been reported that the aquaculture effluent contains many organic compounds containing nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and calcium. The purpose of this study was to investigate the possibility of using the effluent from bio-floc technology (BFT) inland aquaculture for fertilizing blueberry âDukeâ to promote the growth. The experiment was conducted in a commercial blueberry farm in Jinju, Gyeongsangnam-do, where blueberries are actually cultivated in order to find out the effects of fertilizers in situ. The experiment was carried out with five treatments: control with only irrigation, conventional nutrient solution fertigation, and the fertigation with three concentrations (Ã1, Ã0.5, or Ã0.25) of effluent from BFT (Bio-Floc Technology) inland aquaculture. The treatment period was from the beginning of April, when a new leaf of blueberry began to develop, to the middle of June, when the blueberry was harvested, for a total of 10 weeks. As a result of the experiment, the treatments with effluent from BFT inland aquaculture showed better growth qualities than those of control and conventional cultivation. However, there was no statistically significant difference among all treatments regarding the total fruit production. Based on these results, it was concluded that the effluent from BFT inland aquaculture can be used for the cultivation of blueberry because it is equivalent to conventional cultivation method. This study provided a new viewpoint of recycling the effluent from BFT for agricultural purpose to reduce water pollution problems due to aquaculture wastewater. This study was conducted to analyze the correlation between cultivation environment, cropping system, and the quality of cut flower in autumn-winter season chrysanthemumâJinbaâ, and to suggest the cultivation factors that can improve the quality of cut flower. It was examined for cultivation environment such as average day and night temperature, average day and night relative humidity, average day and night vapor pressure deficit (VPD), and integrated solar radiation of 4 farms planted in mid-October. Also, it was surveyed for cropping system such as cutting condition, growth period, irrigation method, soil chemical properties. Chrysanthemum âJinbaâ was harvested in order to investigate the quality of cutting of four farms, and then growth, chlorophyll content, and vase life of cut flowers were investigated. Based on these data, it was analyzed for the correlation between cultivation environment, cropping system, and quality of cut flower elements. In correlation between cultivation environment and quality of cut flower, the average night temperature showed a negative correlation with the growth of cut flower, and it was no correlation with other environmental factors. The vase life showed a negative correlation with the average day and night temperature and VPD, and a most positive correlation with the average day and night humidity. In correlation between cropping system and quality of cut flower, the cutting length, period of vegetative growth, daily irrigation amount, and total irrigation amount showed a less positive correlation, and leaf number of cutting and soil pH showed a most positive correlation with growth of cut flower. On the other hand, soil EC showed a less negative correlation, and days to flowering after light out showed a most negative correlation with growth of cut flower. The Purpose of this study was to develop integrate education program and method for college students, We run English education program and Farming activities half and half; such as endangered plant surveys, gardening, mulching, visiting university attached farm, and local tourism farm for 4 weeks. The results of this study are as follows: First, Agro-entrepreneurial intention is more likely to be found in the English & Farming activity participants, and Male students than English&culture activity participants, and female students respectively. In the context of the effectiveness of the English Learning Program, students with poor English learning usefulness have strong desire to build up their own business, whereas those with higher English learning suitability are more likely to have a strong desire to start farming. In terms of entrepreneurship, the tendency toward entrepreneurship, risk sensitivity. and in terms of self â efficacy, The bigger the confidence, the greater the will to start an agricultural business. The results supported that The English education program with farming activities has a significant and positive influence on Agro-entrepreneurial intention in college students. This study was conducted in order to examine the effects of horticultural activities and flower tea drinking based on reminiscent storytelling on demented elders' cognitive and emotional functions. For these an purposes, the program was executed 35 elders divided four groups at the elders institutionalized at B Facility through 10 sessions during the period from 10 March to 14 July in 2015. As a result first, in the test of pretreatment homogeneity among the groups, no significant difference was observed among the four groups, so they were considered homogeneous. As to difference between before and after the program, cognitive functions were improved significantly after the treatment in the experimental group with both horticultural activities and flower tea drinking (p=.039). Among the emotional functions, self‐esteem was significantly different in the experimental group with only horticultural activities (p=.040), the experimental group with only flower tea drinking (p=.005), and the experimental group with both horticultural activities and flower tea drinking (p=.024). Life satisfaction was significantly different only in the experimental group with both horticultural activities and flower tea drinking (p=.005). Ego integrity was significantly different in the experimental group with only horticultural activities (p=.011) and the experimental group with both horticultural activities and flower tea drinking (p=.005). Therefore, the experimental group with both horticultural activities and flower tea drinking were improved significant that all the items of cognitive and emotional functions. The Purpose of this study was to develop Agro-entrepreneurial education program for agriculture college students, In order to investigate the relationship between the types of agricultural starup business and the entrepreneurial intention, we surveyed 224 Agriculture college students in the 3rd and 4th grades using a questionnaire. The results of this study are as follows: First, college students majoring in agriculture have very low interest in establishing agricultural business. Second, there is a difference in the perception of agricultural entrepreneurship between agriculture college students who are engaged in farming as family business and those who do not. agriculture college students who are engaged in farming as family business (Successive Students). The effect of entrepreneurship on entrepreneurship was different by family business for successive students, initiative and challenge spirit had a significant impact on the agro-entrepreneurial intention. otherwise, non successive students have impacted by innovation and social responsibility. Third, in terms of entrepreneurship, the lower the challenge spirit, the greater the willingness to start an agriculture business. The results supported that for agriculture college students, in order to educate individual customized farming management, it is necessary to confirm whether or not agriculture is a family business.
