
Organisations and insurance companies are not utilising business data and analytical methods to gain full advantage of accurate representation of risk, which can lead to further risk such as underinsurance, overpriced policies, and inaccurate claims assessment.Many companies organise their own insurance and risk management internally and rely on external experts such as insurance companies, brokers, and underwriters to help determine requirements.As part of this set up, there is a reliance on data derived from the organisation to inform policy placement, pricing of insurance policies and to accurately represent risk.The nature for enhancing the operational efficiency of insurance products using Big Data Analytics (BDA) is found to be a common concept in the insurance industry.The research work relating to insurance risks and cyber security is still in its infancy.Therefore, the research aim is to investigate how best to derive business insight from the insurance and risk division of an organisation using Big Data Analytics (BDA).The research considered security metrics for risk, control and mitigation based on the organisation's reaction to cyber risk for data accuracy.This paper reviews research previously conducted in the area with the aim of understanding which Big Data Analytics (BDA) methods are currently used and in which areas of the insurance industry.The findings show that Big Data Analytics (BDA) methods such as predictive analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning and random forest regression are utilised in areas of insurance such as underwriting, claims and pricing.
Nowadays, Learning Management Systems (LMS) are widely used in education and industry.However, it is relatively rare to use LMS in scientific research institutions.The fourth scientific paradigm has prompted research institutions to strengthen continuing education.The essence duty to find new knowledge makes it more challenging for science research institutions to implement LMS.This study proposes a qualitative and quantitative analysis of the application of LMS in research institutions.This includes three major systems of scientific and technological capabilities, ten types of training methods, and an LMS model for research institutions.On this basis, the training management information system (CASMOOC) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences has been developed and implemented to improve the efficiency of training management through informatization, improve the training effect through multi-terminal learning, and accumulate training files to lay the foundation for personalized learning.Digital learning resources play a crucial role within the Learning Management System (LMS).Both professionally recorded lectures in a studio setting and live reports from academic conferences have proven to be effective in addressing researchers' ongoing learning requirements.Diverse methods are employed to create digital learning materials tailored to specific training subjects.The courseware database encompasses over 3000 scientific videos and undergoes annual updates for continuous enrichment.
In this paper, we present a sustainable infrastructural planning using Geographic Information Systems (GISs) for vulnerability mapping of the Marand-Bazargan freeway in Iran.Literature acknowledges that transportation infrastructure is essential for economic development, but it can have significant negative environmental impacts such as land use change, air and noise pollution, and biodiversity loss.In addition, the literature review revealed that EIAs are essential instruments for identifying, mitigating, and/or compensating the environmental impacts of these projects.GIS has emerged as a powerful tool for environmental assessment and transportation planning.However, there is a lack of research on the effectiveness of GIS for road projects in Iran, with most studies focused on site selection and conducted outside the country.This study aims to answer a main research question: How can GIS be used to select the most environmentally friendly route?The analysis conducted detects vulnerable areas and determines the alignment with minimal negative impacts by overlaying maps and utilising ArcGIS Pro and the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP).The vulnerability map generated using GIS overlay analysis shows that the majority of the freeway has low to negligible vulnerability, while only limited areas have moderate to high vulnerability.Integrating GIS and the Leopold Matrix enables a comprehensive analysis and ensures sustainable and environmentally-friendly infrastructure development in road construction projects of Iran.Limitations include the constraints geographic scope, AHP subjectivity, and limited range of experts, environmental factors and stakeholders' viewpoints.Further, the use of Leopold Matrix to assess the environmental consequences of micro-activities would be expanded upon.
The pandemic confronted universities with the need to pursue their crisis management.Agility and ephemerality of information flow became essential in terms of flexibility and information distribution.Facing different national pandemic situations as well as different assets, universities had to take different suiting approaches of crisis management and communication strategies.Viewing these approaches from a more holistic perspective with similar situations of facility closure and onlinecommunication, we identify four different strategy approaches of communication and crisis management performed by universities in Sweden and Germany, based on Mintzberg & Lampel's strategy types.This paper aims to provide deeper insight about strategical approaches towards information distribution and management in times of crisis to offer good practice examples for future crises.
In March of 2020, we were sitting in our cubicles in Manchester, New Hampshire USA when an email went out to our colleagues from the President of our University asking us to calmly pack up our necessary belongings and directing us to take whatever technology was appropriate from our workstations to plan to work from our homes for the next two weeks as we watched the world in effect shut down to allow for the COVID-19 to pass.Soon, two weeks turned into two months and two months to two years.We were allowed back to our desks in a cascade effect, never at the same time out of an abundance of caution, to recover additional items and clear out our spaces for good with masks and gloves.Calendars and notes and cups with evaporated coffee were left obsolete, and untouched, as were processes on how we used to do things as we, in many ways, had to pivot on a dime to continue to offer the exceptional educational services to our students that they've grown to expect.As such, the need to rely on our knowledge management roots and pivot those slightly to not only embrace the process but also now embrace both the people who manage the process and the people who benefit from the process -those who are in the learning ecosystem became even more necessary.An outcome of How an Effective Knowledge Management Program Supports Critical Tacit Knowledge Retention Within a Higher Education Institution: A Qualitative Intrinsic Case Study this article explores how knowledge management can be leveraged as a tool within education to support the development of a robust the ongoing development and shift as an organization shifts toward moving toward being an organization that embraces what it means to become a learning organization.
This study investigates the seminal role of science diplomacy in contributing to the global paradigm of sustainable development.It advances a nuanced conceptual understanding of science diplomacy which markedly departs from the idealistic and prescriptive connotations which have in the past decade resulted in the conflation of science diplomacy with the concept of soft power.It is argued that the positivistic associations in attached to international science and its ability to improve geopolitical dynamics and international relations overlook the important and overlooked role that diplomacy plays in driving scientific collaboration and cooperation.This study therefore aims to illuminate a normative analytical perspective of diplomacy as a conduit for disseminating political and ideological narratives that give shape to international science initiatives in the first instance.Hence, this paper endeavors to enhance knowledge on Science Diplomacy by exploring key developments that can assist us in transforming it from what is primarily a positivistic concept into an analytically robust tool that can shed critical insight and unveil novel perspectives into complex geopolitical diplomatic histories.

In this paper we focus on our Research and Development project on progress in the field of Music Education.COVID-19 has caused a deep crisis to education in many ways and also given rise to the need for family education in China.To meet such needs urgently, Tulip Community Academy Dalian NCC Centre (China) was established -it is the first, and currently the only, local NGO family social network in China that has been accredited by British Ofqual regulated NCC Education to deliver Digital Literacy Programmes for children.To this extend, there have also been local rapidly growing interest in international multi-cultures as well as in music.We intend to explore such interest as a vehicle to connect music education with China's local families across international cultures.Raising research questions, the report highlights the adaptation of Participatory Action Method; scopes research issues on how student led academic study of music and engagement with family intergeneration and social development assists, where a range of core values of music across international cultures is elicited; that how pedagogical engagements with families can be applied to social communities, schools, and off-school activities.
This study examined the determinants of Artificial Intelligence (AI) adoption for teaching physics in senior secondary schools in Ibadan North Local Government Oyo State, Nigeria.A sample of one hundred (100) teachers was randomly selected from randomly selected senior secondary schools in Ibadan North L.G.A. Physics Teachers Artificial Intelligence Adoption Questionnaire (PTAIAQ) r=0.50 was used to collect data for the study.Four research questions were answered, and data collected were analysed using frequency counts, percentages and mean.The results indicated that most physics teachers are of the view that AI would make their work easier and most teachers know how to make us of AI tools in teaching of physics.Perceived usefulness of ICT is a major predictor for teachers' adoption of AI.Similarly, the results showed that perceived ease of use is also a significant variable of AI adoption.It is therefore recommended that teachers should be provided with the relevant AI tools by the school or the government for the effective teaching of physics.Teachers should be motivated to use the available AI resources for the teaching of physics.They should be adequately trained to be able to make judicious use of the available AI tools/resources at their disposal.The school environment, structures and composition should be AI accommodating.Word count: 211.
This longitudinal study employs quantitative and qualitative methodologies that explain how resources combined with quality education can make a difference for low-income students to attain post-secondary schooling.It uses data from a grant-funded college readiness program.It demonstrates how this program contributes for student success and their personal and academic development.The findings prove that students from working-class communities can improve their upward mobility and quality of life.The research indicates that knowledge deficits were significantly more evident among families with lower incomes and educational attainments.The context of this study is in El Paso, Texas, a borderland region where only a small majority make to Higher Ed.The local university was awarded nationally for contributing to students' social upward mobility after graduating with a college degree.
The educational technologies have taken great strides, especially in MIDI composition, teachers across the world are still adjusting to incorporate such technology into their curricula.Numerous studies have shown the benefit of using MIDI in the classroom, but with limited class time and a strong focus on performance, composition is often seen as a lesser priority.The balance between music theory, performance time, and composition learning is delicate and difficult to maintain for many music educators.To address this issue, this paper aims to outline a general conceptual framework centered around a key element of music theory to integrate MIDI composition into the music classroom to not only introduce students to digital composition but also enhance their understanding of music theory and its applicability.
