
INTRODUCTION: CVA is a lesion in the brain commonly referred to as stroke, an insult or shock because of its sudden onset. It results in paralysis of one side of the body (hemiplegia) or both sides of the body (bilateral hemiplegia). The lesion is characterized by an interruption of the blood supply to the brain tissues in a particular location, caused by thrombus, embolus, anoxia, hemorrhage or aneurysm. OBJECTIVE: To see the effect of sensory re-education on hand dexterity in post stroke clients. HYPOTHESIS: Active sensory training is less effective as compared to passive sensory training in improving hand dexterity in post stroke clients. No difference is observed between active sensory training and passive sensory training in post stroke clients. DESIGN: An experimental pretext – posttest study design was used. PARTICIPANTS: 30 adults, both male and female with history of first stroke, who were attending the Department of Occupational Therapy S.V.N.I.R.T.A.R, who fulfilled the inclusion criteria, were recruited for the study. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: MINNESOTA MANUAL DEXTERITY TEST (MMDT) MOBERG PICK-UP TEST RESULTS: The result of the study shows that both after stroke of active sensory training and passive sensory training as an adjunct to conventional occupational therapy showed significant improvement in the MMDT and MPUT scores for hand dexterity within the group but in between the groups in MMDT only turning shows significant improvement where as the MMDT placing subtests and MPUT score does not show any significant improvement. CONCLUSIONS: From the obtained results of the study is seen that the stroke patients improve in their MMDT turning subtest score where as there is no improvement in MPUT score for the dexterity so it suggests that there is improvement in motor component in both the groups but there is no significant improvement in sensory component on both the groups.
In this paper, we look at how supervised machine learning techniques can be used to forecast car prices in India. Data from the online marketplace quikr was used to make the predictions. The predictions were made using a variety of methods, including multiple linear regression analysis, Random forest regressor and Randomized search CV. The predictions are then analyzed and compared to determine which ones provide the best results. A seemingly simple problem turned out to be extremely difficult to solve accurately. All of the strategies yielded similar results. In the future, we want to make predictions using more advanced technologies.
There are different moods of data sources primarily: audio, image, text, and sensors. Human mood is identified from facial expression and speech tones. Physical activities are used to be detected by sensors which humans carry i.e cellphones. Using such techniques, applications are predicted, for benefit to users. It is a smart music player that keeps learning your listening habits and plays the song preferred by your current mood, activities etc. Facial expression recognition include image processing, done using multiple algorithms, with feature extraction, and verified into different emotions.
Right from the beginning of life, the importance of fire cannot be over-emphasized as man embraces evolution which is accompanied by new innovations, discoveries and technology. Despite its importance, fire outbreak causes negative effects on human being and the society at large. Poor dissemination of information regarding fire disasters, causes of fire disaster, mitigating methods and risk management has led to an increase in exposure the society to greater risk. Therefore, there is a need to predict the location that a fire disaster is likely to occur using Markov chain. The study revealed that fire outbreaks can occur in any place and at a different magnitude, therefore, everybody has to be on guard. The finding also revealed that places that experienced fire disasters will still experience in the future if not properly managed. We recommended that the government should create awareness through advertisement programs, training centers, seminars and encourage the integration of fire disasters into the school curriculum to ensure sufficient and effective fire disaster mitigation and management.
RCC walls including shear walls are the usual multi-Storied Buildings requirements. In past researches high rise structure without RC Shear Wall is not safe for earthquake force. No comparative analysis of structures on seismic behavior of high rise structure by using of RC Shear wall with flat slab. Present work is comparative study of the behaviour of high rise 16 Storey buildings with and without RC Shear wall using flat slab. Modelling and Analysis of high rise structure using STAAD PRO V8i Software. STAAD PRO software which is based on the application of Finite Element Method. This software is a widely used in the field of structural design and analysis. Now a day this software is very much friendly for the analysis of different type of structures and to calculate the result at every node & element wise. Here three cases are consider for study 16 Storey buildings and analysis displacement, shear force & bending moments generated in structure with and without RC Shear wall using flat slab. Usually, these dividers stay at the stature of the whole structure; anyway a few dividers are shut down to the street front or cellar level to allow for mechanical or stopping areas. Sometimes, the divider structure is symmetric regarding in any event one hub inside the plan. Usually, divider support comprises of two layers of fortifications appropriated through the length of the wall. Also, vertical fortification bars are offered close to the entryway and window openings on the divider end zones. OBJECTIVES Present work is comparative study of the behaviour of high rise 16 Storey buildings with and without RC Shear wall using flat slab. METHODOLOGY The RCC building models having 16 storeys with shear walls and without shear walls are considered for the study. The FEM RS analysis of building is carried out using structural engineering software StaadPro V8i and the seismic performance of building with various shear walls configurations is compared with respect to parameters like base shear, lateral displacement, time period and member forces. The heat transfer system is of great importance in many commercial and domestic applications. Likewise, IC engine always maintained at the working temperature for good ex. The improper generation distribution of temperature affects the performance and reduces the efficiency of the engine hence to the vehicle/automobile. The performance of automobile Radiators can be substantially improved by a number of augmentation techniques. Heat transfer can be increased by active and passive flow control techniques or either with the incorporation of Nanofluids. As in order to remove the excess temperature, we need some cooling system in the automobile. The cooling system can be of two types Air and Water cooling system. Air cooling system is generally used in two-wheelers and airplanes. The air directly takes the heat from the surface of the engine through the fins available on them. In the water cooling system, a water jacket is provided around the engine which carries the heat of the engine and releases this heat to the atmosphere with the help of a component called a radiator. The radiator basically consists of the upper tank, lower tank, tubes, fins, thermostat, the inlet port and outlet port, pressure cap. In the present work, Simulation-Based Interpretation and Performance Analysis on Automobile Radiator through NanoParticle Fluids on modeled setup will be done trying to incorporate the condition of the automobile by using Nanoparticle fluids of Al2O3 and CuO. Water will also be taken to compare the performance of the Nanofluids. Results of numerous experimental and Ansys CFD solvers will be illustrated.
Increasingly, sustainable waste management has emerged as a major concern both in terms of environmental protection and sustainable management of urban spaces. Over the years, it has been observed that, the volume of waste generated in urban spaces in Cameroon far exceeds the capacity of local councils to manage. Mfoundi council, like the majority councils in Cameroon, has outsourced the collection and disposal of solid waste to the private waste collection company. However, decline in waste collection rates, rising cost associated with solid waste retrieval and disposal; continue to exacerbate the challenge local councils experience with regards to urban waste disposal and management. From the foregoing, this study seeks to critically examine the sustainability of the policy, and practices of Municipal Solid Waste Management (MSWM) systems adopted in the Mfoundi Division. This study adopted a hybrid of qualitative and quantitative approaches using questionnaires, interviews and focused group discussion as main instruments of data collection. The non-probability purposive sampling was used due to time and cost constraints The findings of this study revealed that, the council waste management approach does not meet the demands of the population. Poor collection and transportation facilities, insufficient waste collection frequency, low levels of household awareness of good solid waste management practices; lack of awareness on waste reuse and recycling are some of the major challenges identified by the study. Thus, people have been left with little or no choice but to dump waste in open spaces, water bodies, drainage channels, deposit along roadsides and streets. The study recommends the following, adopting a community participative approach for efficient waste management, introduction of a waste reuse; recycling and reduction plan, intensive sensitization to educate the population on proper waste management practices (waste separation) via mass campaigns, finally the state should compel brewery and water companies to put in place an avenue to collect the plastic bottles sold to the population.
An E-Rickshaw vehicle is the boon to the common man. Overall, India is the home of 1.5 million battery operated electric rickshaw, catering to over 60 million commuters users every day especially in and around metro routes and highly populated pockets. The Electric Rickshaw is also known as ‘ Tuuk-Tuuki ’ or ‘ Toto’ or Battery Rickshaw at different name in different places. The three wheeled battery operated Electric Rickshaw or E-Rickshaw has emerged in public road transport in Malda district of West Bengal like many parts of the country recently 4-5 years ago. The E-Rickshaw is environment friendly and has the potential to reduce the carbon foot-print due to passenger transport system. This paper is an attempt to assessment the socio-economic strength of the E-Rickshaw drivers, to know the health status of the E-Rickshaw drivers and to know the problems faced by the E-Rickshaw drivers in the study area. The Malda district of West Bengal has been selected as the study area, known as Gateway of North Bengal, famous for mango and raw silk production. The entire research work is based on both primary and secondary sources of data. The results of the study shows that 51.23 per cent of the respondents are income daily INR 501-1000 from E-Rickshaw services, 23.45 per cent of the E-Rickshaw drivers are facing the debt problems to recovery the financial loan. The researchers suggested that Central as well as State Government should given the subsidized loan from public and private sector banks and other financial institution for buying the new E-Rickshaw the study area. The E-Rickshaw has the potential to reduce the fuel oil consumption for passenger transportation which may lead to both economic and environmental benefit.

This paper presents the performance of a LCD laboratory lantern designed to combust varieties of biofuels. The burner was designed as a laboratory scale standard model for experimental purposes. The effect of biofuel atomization on the temperature and structure of flame in the near-burner region of a multi-fuel stabilised burner of a laboratory scale lantern was investigated experimentally with the help of a microcontroller made of pic 16F877. The laboratory scale lantern is of two litres capacity and was designed and constructed at the department of Mechanical Engineering, Nnamdi Azikiwe University to be used for laboratory combustion analysis, such as flame stability, temperature, height etc with the help of microcontroller made of pic 16F877 which takes temperature reading between 0-150oC and content of flame in order to determine its structure. A 16 by 2 liquid crystal display was used to read out the values of the temperature read by the LM35. The LCD was interfaced to the microcontroller in a 4bit mode. The LM35 Temperature Sensor used in this design has Zero offset voltage, which means that the Output = 0V at 0 °C. The design of the fuel level detector unit was achieved using BC548 NPN transistor connected via collector to the microcontroller unit. The burner was designed to atomize and ignite a combination of gaseous, liquid and biofuels. Detailed fuel flow rate and flame temperature measurements were obtained by means of a regression model and a LM35 thermocouple. The measurements aim to provide additional understanding on the efficiency and combustion process interaction in laboratory scale burners which can lead to useful conclusions about the properties and structure of flames produced from different biofuels to ascertain their different areas of industrial applications.
Aim: The changing technology, economic conditions and global competition have made the role of management education crucial for the success of individuals and the industry. The business educators are increasingly concerned with preparing the students for the competitive market. Stress negatively affects the varied efforts of business educators to produce talented workforce. The main objective of the study was to explore the effects of stress and psychological distress on the productivity of business teachers. Methods: A deductive approach was adopted for framing the hypotheses and a structured questionnaire was used for collecting data. The research participants were business educators (n=408) working in Karnataka, India. SPSS AMOS was adopted to fit a structure equation model on the data collected and study the structural relationships among the variables. Results: The findings revealed that the stress and psychological distress experienced by business educators significantly and negatively affected their productivity (teaching productivity, research productivity and student outcomes). However, the organizational commitment of the teachers enhanced their productivity. Implications: Based on the results, it is implied that business education administrators must take efforts and develop strategies to help business teachers cope with stress in order to achieve academic outcomes. Cancer is one of the deadliest diseases which is caused when abnormal cells divide uncontrollably and destroy body tissue. Colorectal cancer (CRC), also known as colon cancer, is one of the most common type of cancers in humans is closely linked to the global cancer – related mortalities worldwide. The ongoing clinical treatment for colorectal cancer or colon cancer largely engages surgery and chemotherapy. But as there are many side effects and due to emergence of drug resistance, it has become very necessary to find novel and more effectual drugs for colon cancer treatment. Chemo prevention, a novel method for controlling cancer encompasses the use of specific natural products or synthetic chemical agents to reverse, suppress or prevent premalignancy before the development of invasive cancer. Many studies have signified that various natural products have efficacious anti CRC effects and may be used as substitutional chemotherapy agents for CRC therapy. Various natural compounds have been shown to be promising on the basis of their anti cancerous effects and low toxicity. In this review we summarise the natural compounds having anti CRC effects from distinct sources. This review suggest that they provide a novel opportunity for treatment of colon cancer.
