
One opportunity to manage the increase of freight transportation and to optimize utilization of motorway capacities is the concept of truck platoons. With the aid of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, trucks are electronically coupled keeping very short gaps (approx. 10 meters) to form truck platoons on motorways. This contributes to optimization of traffic flow and reduction of fuel consumption advantaged by slipstream driving. In this paper, a brief introduction into these truck platoons is given as well as a short overview about the elements of the automation-, information- and automotive-technology of the experimental trucks. The paper focuses on the determination of the order of the electronically coupled trucks, which is essential to organize and operate these platoons. The order is necessary for the communication between trucks in order to receive the correct information via vehicle-vehicle-communication. An algorithm for the determination of the order of vehicles on motorways based on GPS-data is derived, which finally has been applied on test drives.
IP technology will play a key role in next generation wireless networks, which face the great challenge of integration in order to provide seamless service to users anywhere and anytime. On the basis of the architecture for Qos in next generation wireless network, a coordinated call admission control mechanism was presented, providing an end-to-end RSVP context transfer for real-time applications to overcome the weakness of the context transfer protocol which cannot meet the need of end-to-end QoS mechanisms because the contexts were only transferred between the previous and new access routers. This mechanism decreased the delay caused by re-initiate QoS signaling from scratch to reestablish QoS forwarding process, and minimized the handover service disruption.
The application of self-adapting weighting(SAW) evidence fusion algorithm in the fault diagnosis of the gas turbine is discussed and a new multi-level information fusion model is proposed. Then address to minimizing the senor measurement uncertainty(MU), the model firstly adopts the self-adapting weighting fusion algorithm for the congenetic data fusion. Then the fault evidence is calculated based on data fusion results, in addition, the evidence preference weight(EPW) are solved through the minimal measurement uncertainty. Finally the advanced Dempster-Shafer(D-S) evidence theory is proposed for overall fusion of fault evidence. The experiments of fault diagnosis for one gas turbine are carried out, which demonstrates that the model could effectively diagnose the gas faults of the gas turbine and avoids the vile effect of the measurement uncertainty in a great deal.
This paper presents a new control allocation scheme for the stability control of a 4WD EV. A hierarchical vehicle stability control strategy is used. The high level of the control strategy is the vehicle motion control level. And the low level is the control allocation level in which the longitudinal force's distribution is the focal point. Through the analysis of the tire characteristics under the combined longitudinal and lateral forces, an effectiveness matrix for the control allocation considering the longitudinal force's impact on the lateral force was proposed. Then based on Quadratic Programming method the longitudinal force of each wheel has been optimal distributed. The simulation results indicate that the proposed method can enhance the vehicle handling stability, meanwhile the control efficiency is also improved.
A novel self-adaptive Ant Colony Optimization algorithm based on Quantum mechanism for Traveling salesman problem(TQACO) is proposed. Firstly, initializing the population of the ant colony with superposition of Q-bit, Secondly, using self-adaptive operator, namely in prophase we use higher probability to explore more search space and to collect useful global information; otherwise in anaphase we use higher probability to accelerate convergence. This mechanism offers the ability to escape from local optima and can self-regulate the production of diverse antibodies. Because of the quantum superposition and rotation it can maintain quite nicely the population diversity than the classical evolutionary algorithm, because of the self-adaptive operator it can obtain more optimal solution and the solution quality is improved significantly. TSP benchmark instances Chn144 results demonstrate the superiority of TQACO in this paper.
Two multi-layer network backup capacity recovery mechanisms, which are static and dynamic mechanisms, have been proposed to realize survivability strategy in IP over WDM multi-layer network. Compared with the static one, the dynamic backup capacity mechanism is adopted as its flexibility which is more suitable for the development in the current network. To achieve better performance of resource utilization, a novel method is studied in this paper, which combines mechanism with the pre-allocated restoration as the survivability strategy technique. This method is able to adjust the link weight value according to current state of network. Simulation result proves that load on the network is efficiently balanced and resource utilization is improved by this method.
The old information management system for power supply section has a serious managing defective, that is, with the rude Excel/Word-based managing methods, the information input has too much redundancy, and the operations of inquiry, statistics, summarizing are too difficult. This paper found that Lotus Notes/Domino-based Information Management Systems from IBM, used in Power Supply Section, can provide a better managing platform, to be detailed, it manages various equipments in power supply section effectively, the operation interface is user-friendly, and the information input is less redundant, the statistics and summarizing are simpler and speedier. Such a system has been put into use.
Point out the fuzziness and uncertainty of user preferences. Put forward the advantage of using cloud model to calculate the user preferences. Introduce the cloud model and construct the model of user preferences based on cloud model. Design one new algorithm for calculating the user preferences with time weight. The experiments show the personalized recommend based on the new user preferences has high practical value and better recommend results.
The space positioning mechanism based on binocular stereo vision system for the picking manipulator was analyzed, and the positioning process simulation system for space manipulator was developed by virtual reality technology. The precise positioning for a virtual space manipulator was achieved in the simulation system, through a combination of the positioning error compensation mechanism for binocular stereo vision system; provide a reference for the research into exact position of picking robot in the actual operating environment.
This paper presents an effective license plate location algorithm, which employs Mathematical morphology to extract the number plate from the complicated-background image. Mathematical morphology is a new method which is applied in this filed of image treatments and pattern recognition. The basic mind is using structure element to measure and extract corresponding Shape of image and finally in reach to the aim of image analysis and recognition.
The weaknesses of GPS (Global Positioning System) is vulnerable to be jammed, so the study of jamming and anti-jamming of GPS has drawn more and more attention. In this paper, it analyzes the performance of GPS jamming and the anti-jamming of GPS receiver about blanket jamming. In addition, it establishes the simulation model based on MATLAB and gives the analysis of the performance of the anti-jamming about GPS receiver by adding the C/A code jamming and single-frequency jamming. Finally, based on the simulation, it analyzes the effect on GPS receiver by adding C/A code jamming and single-frequency jamming; and it achieves the analysis of the anti-jamming of GPS after the bit error decision, which proves that GPS have some ability of anti-noise and anti-jamming.

Put the predicting query performance(PQP) into the query fusion and construct a new adaptive information retrieval system(QAAIR) based on performance analysis in the base of analyzing the method of PQP for IR system and expound the main technique. The experiment adopted testing data of TREC Web track show the method can improve the effectiveness of query and overcome the robust of information retrieval.
The principle and advantages of the speedy monitoring instrument of SO2 are introduced in this paper, and the reliability, accuracy and precision are determined by the comparison of routine analysis. In the meantime, the method can monitor quickly SO2 in the air at a site without power, water source and experimental platform, and the analysis of a sample needs only 3 seconds.
In this paper, we describe a new algorithm for radar detection based on the Hough transform which employs the slope-intercept parameter space. Unlike the conventional Hough transform, we shift the parameter space cells to perform the transform. The computation burden is reduced. Another advantage is that those straight lines whose intercept are bigger than the radar maximum range can also be detected. In addition, we also investigate the performance of the algorithm we present and show its efficiency with some simulations.
There are two types of packet marking techniques in DDoS attacks defense. IP traceback reconstructs attack paths and entrance nodes, while path identification enables the victim identify and filter effectively malicious packets. In this paper, we propose an idea of organic combination of both that the upstream nodes identify and filter malicious packets. We specifically design a new packet marking and filtering scheme. Along the path, the nodes before the border routers mark packets with path identification scheme while the border nodes mark packets with IP traceback scheme. The victim can extract and reconstruct the relevant information from malicious arrived packets, and then notify the attack entrance nodes, i.e., the border routers, to filter malicious packets based on marking information. Large-scale simulation results based on actual Internet topology show that our defense scheme is better, and reduce effectively the impact of the attack on the victim and the upstream link inside autonomous system.
Focusing upon job sequencing in fuzzy production environment, the fuzzy scheduling model and its algorithm are proposed for unrelated parallel machines in this study. Considering uncertain jobs' processing times and due dates, in light of the possibility and necessity measures in fuzzy theory, the tardiness credibility index of job is proposed to estimate the possibility of job's tardiness. The mixed integer programming model of unrelated parallel machines is constructed for average credibility of job's tardiness. A novel hybrid fuzzy genetic algorithm is developed to tackle the model. Finally, a case study is given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
In order to increase the safety of vehicle reversing, a vehicle reversing collision avoidance device was developed based on single chip computer. The basic principle and the framework of the device were introduced. For the device hardware, the principle of ultrasonic distance measurement was given, the AT89C51 single chip computer was chosen, and the hardware circuits were designed. According to the functions of the device, the system software was designed. The test results show the vehicle reversing collision avoidance device can satisfy the requirement of reverse collision avoidance with maximum measurement distance of 5 meters the minimum measurement distance of 0.2 meters and the error of 5 centimeters.
