In this work, the ABAQUS AM modeler was employed to simulate a Directed Energy Deposition (DED) additive manufacturing process. The modeler provides an automated interface to prescribe the imposed tool path and process conditions. Though it may take some effort to understand how to use this element-birth technique approach, it is definitely worth the effort if you want to simulate additive manufacturing or similar processes.
To facilitate the current and future automation needs, the research community constantly seeks to develop dynamic and efficient autonomous decision-making agents. These agents must not only be robust to modeling uncertainties, internal and external changes, but can adapt to a range of tasks also. Recent progress in deep reinforcement learning has corroborated to its potential to train such autonomous and robust agents.
A haptic device with both force and torque outputs is preferred in many applications. It generates faithful interaction between an operator and a virtual or remote environment and facilitates teleoperation. However, researchers do not have sufficient access to such a haptic device due to the facts that the commercially available ones are usually expensive and the state-of-the-art research prototypes are not readily reproducible outside the original laboratories. This paper presents the design and the experimental characterization of the CombOmni, an affordable haptic device with both force and torque outputs.
From past decades, the different types of mechanisms in mobile robots have been created so far which includes legged, treaded-tyre and wheeled type robots. Among these types, the wheeled type is easiest to control while the treaded-tyre type offers improved flexibility. Legged locomotion, though not widely used for industrial purposes, has growing implications
Aluminum alloy are getting increased attention mainly because of their application in the automotive and aerospace industries and there is a significant scientific and industrial interest in use of Al-Mg-Si-Mn-Fe alloys in automotive applications to reduce the weight and production cost of vehicles, besides, only in the last five decades have attempts been made to study the feeding mechanisms of aluminum-silicon alloys, according to statement of Dash and Makhlouf
