This case study examined the conditions that make collaboration possible between the luxury fashion and contemporary art markets in Mexico, based on qualitative research developed as part of the Master’s Degree in Fashion Business at Centro de diseño y comunicación (CENTRO). The research combined documentary review, interviews with experts, field observation, and case analysis. The findings showed how both sectors interact within a fragmented ecosystem in which cultural discourses, commercial practices, and dynamics of symbolic legitimation coexist.Beyond describing these interactions, the study explored the tensions, structural limitations, and emerging opportunities that shape the relationship between fashion and art in the national context. Taken together, the results indicate that, at present, these synergies represent a fertile ground for developing new forms of creation within the cultural industries in Mexico.
Given the accelerated pace of digital transformation, companies face the challenge of adapting to new ways of interacting with their customers, especially through digital platforms and emerging technologies. In this context, digital marketing has become a strategic tool for strengthening competitiveness and improving organizational performance in service sectors such as the coffee industry. In the municipality of Navojoa, Sonora, coffee service companies have experienced steady growth, hence the need to study their positioning in the face of the challenges of the digital environment. To identify the perceptions of business leaders regarding digital marketing, competitiveness, and their relationship to organizational performance, a non-experimental, cross-sectional, relational, and explanatory study was designed. The sample consisted of 45 coffee companies in the municipality, selected using a statistical calculation with an expected proportion of 70%, a 95% confidence level, and a maximum permissible error of 10%. A validated, structured Likert-type questionnaire with adequate reliability (Cronbach's alpha ranging from 0.743 to 0.804) was administered. Standardized indices (0–100) were generated from the data using SPSS. The results show strong internal consistency, supporting the instrument's validity and the reliability of the findings. A significant relationship was found between digital marketing, competitiveness, and business performance. The results confirm that the use of digital strategies strengthens the competitive position and economic development of local coffee companies.
The aim was to analyze the effect of social media influencers (SMIs) on purchase intention for ethnic textiles and how consumer values (CVs) mediate the relationship between SMIs and purchase intention. The study was quantitative, correlational, and cross-sectional, with a sample of 405 tourists who visited Oaxaca City. The data were analyzed using structural equation modeling (PLS). The results show how SMI influences purchase intention for ethnic textiles, as well as the importance of CV as a mediating variable between SMI and purchase intention. This research is original in its provision of information on the purchasing behavior of ethnic textiles among national and international tourists in Oaxaca. The main finding is that SMI affects the purchase intentions of both national and international tourists visiting Oaxaca.
