
On Sunday, December 31, 2023, an earthquake of magnitude 4.8M occurred in Sumedang Regency, located in the West Java Province.According to the Meteorological, Climatological, and Geophysical Indonesian Agency, the earthquake's epicenter was located 2 km northeastof Sumedang Regency, West Java, with coordinates of 107.94E and6.85S. The epicenter was relativelyshallow, measuring 5 km in depth. As a consequence,numerous residential structures were rendered inoperable, exhibiting varying degrees of damageranging from minor to moderate to severe. Furthermore, the seismic repercussions reverberated in distant cities suchas Garut, Cirebon,and Bandung. Understanding the geological, geophysical,and geographical elements of the Sumedang region is critical because the zoning falls under the disaster-prone group. Studies on fault zones, land movement analysis, building risk assessment, infrastructure stability evaluations, and sustainabledevelopment initiatives, all supported by a comprehensive understanding of Sumedang's geology, must be conducted on an ongoing basis because they will have a significant impact on the resilience and stability of the area's infrastructure and settlements.The community service activities in Sumedang are centered onthe community's knowledge and awareness regarding the technical assessment of structures after anearthquake. Specifically, the program aims to assist the Gereja Kristen Pasundan (GKP) Sumedang community. Technical assistance focused on the problem of earthquake-resistant residential building construction and the prevention of landslides in the aftermath of an earthquake. In addition, the local population needs a thorough comprehension of earthquake disaster mitigation, including practical knowledge, to prepare for the potential following disaster.

This article describes the implementation of the Doctoral Program in comunity Service (Doktor mengabdi / DM) conducted in Sumberpasir Village, Pakis District, Malang Regency. The purpose of this service is to empower the community through the utilization of tofu industry waste into useful and eco-friendly products. The program consisted of three main activities: BIOLITA, which focused on processing liquid tofu waste into organic liquid fertilizer; MAGOLITA, which transformed solid tofu waste into maggot feed; and GURAME, which emphasized character building and educational development for elementary school students. The impact of this service involved improving environmental awareness, enhancing waste management practices, promoting community-based economic opportunities, and fostering cooperation between the university and the village. The program successfully demonstrated how higher education institutions can contribute to sustainable community development through applied science and innovation.
Lambadeuk Village in Aceh Province is known for Trigona bees, which produce honey and propolis, a valuable by-product often discarded due to limited knowledge and skills for its utilization. This study evaluates the impact of soap-making workshop on community knowledge, behavior, and empowerment, employing Participatory Action Research (PAR). The program engaged 27 participants, primarily housewives and farmers, in theoretical and practical training on soap production using propolis. Pretest and posttest evaluations revealed significant improvements in participants' knowledge of soap-making processes and ingredient roles, with knowledge levels shifting from low to high. However, confidence for independent production remained modest, indicating the need for continued mentorship. By transforming Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth). This program demonstrates the potential of targeted empowerment efforts to enhance community skills, reduce waste, and foster sustainable development through innovative resource utilization.
Boyolali Regency, as the largest dairy cattle producer in Central Java, faces challenges in managing livestock waste, particularly cow manure. To address this, the Boyolali Regency Government, through the Environmental Agency (Dinas Lingkugngan Hidup/DLH), has constructed 600 biogas digesters to convert cow manure into biogas and digestate. However, the utilization of digestate as organic fertilizer has not been optimized. This study aims to enhance farmers' capacity to process digestate into biofertilizer through training, assistance, and demonstrations. Survey results indicate that most farmers have not utilized digestate effectively, leading to potential environmental pollution. Through the provided supports and assistances, farmers' knowledge of digestate processing significantly increased. The program also highlighted the potential of using digestate biofertilizer to reduce operational costs, increase farmers' income, and promote a sustainable agricultural and livestock system.
Sumber Kencono Village in Banyuwangi is known for its horticulture, such as shallots and fruits. However, farmers face challenges in processing and marketing their crops. The Doktor Mengabdi program introduced vacuum frying technology to enhance product value and shelf life by processing shallots and fruits into high-quality chips. The program involved technology introduction, processing training, questionnaires, and Business Model Canvas (BMC) socialization for the Sumber Beras Farmer Group. Results showed that 95% of participants improved their understanding of vacuum frying. This technology effectively boosts product selling value and longevity. Satisfaction evaluations indicated that most participants were pleased with the program. The BMC analysis revealed that chip products have significant market potential. Implementing this technology is expected to increase farmer group incomes and improve the welfare of Sumber Kencono Village.
Malang Regency, particularly its southern region, possesses significant coastal beauty. One prominent example is Purwodadi Village in Tirtoyudo District, recognized as the Bowele Tourism Village, encompassing Bolu-bolu, Wedi Awu, and Lenggoksono beaches. These coastal areas boast pristine natural landscapes, waves suitable for surfing, and rich marine biodiversity, making thempremier tourist attractions.Despite its natural potential, the tourism village faces challenges in leveraging digital technology and human resources for tourism promotion. Implementing digital tourism management—such as digital marketing, social media management, and creative content production—remains suboptimal due to the local community's limited knowledge and expertise. A competent digital creative team is essential to foster sustainable tourism development and attract more visitors. This team, collaborating with potential actors, is expected to enhance branding and promotional efforts while producing engaging digital content to increase Bowele's appeal and accessibility.Through the collaboration of village authorities, tourism awareness groups (Pokdarwis), and other key stakeholders, forming a digital creative team is anticipated to optimize the development of Bowele Tourism Village, ultimately providing economic benefits to the local community.
In facing the challenges of the digital era, Ngrendeng and Banjarsari villages need innovative approaches to improve the efficiency of public services. This activity aims to increase the understanding and ability of village officials and village residents about digital-based village administration services. The application was built by utilizing some technologies that are WhatsApp Chatbot, Google Drive and Google Form. The needs analysis shows that there are differences in service facilities between the two villages, where Banjarsari only focuses on providing information regarding the requirements for submitting certificates, while Ngrendeng allows for digital processing of letters at the same time. The evaluation of the questionnaire shows that the application developed is very appropriate to needs. This activity is published in national mass media Radar Malang, Prasetya Online UB, and Academiamu. In addition, the training module has been registered Intellectual Property Rights to the Indonesian Ministry of Law and Human Rights.

In this study, we started with presentation of the environment and the general framework from which we developed our specification, which allowed us to define the methodology of our work. We started by builders recover documents then retrieve the list of codes existing database-level information system (AMASIS). Then, we integrate technical database characteristics of each ingredient and we consider the annual consumption of each N-1 reference. The aim of this paper is to study and implement a comprehensive database to get reliable and complete listing of ingredients used by an aviation company. Finally, trying some tests at the automatic replenishment module.
The Doktor Mengabdi Program in Pangpong Village aims to empower small-scale plasma farmers under PT Arda and Omid Farm by developing a self-sufficient livestock community. This initiative enhances economic growth through feed entrepreneurship and modern cattle farming. The program benefits 29 partnered farmers managing 58 beef cattle. It includes extension services, training in efficient feed production, and practical workshops on improving feed quality. Farmers also receive education on livestock management and marketing strategies to support sustainable businesses. Regular field visits ensure effective adoption of new practices, while profitability analysis evaluates economic impacts. Key outcomes include improved farmer expertise in feed management, increased feed quality and quantity, and the establishment of profit-oriented cattle farming. A major achievement is the development of a Mini Feedmill, supporting sustainable feed production and long-term livestock farming success. This program significantly boosts farmer income and strengthens the local cattle industry.
Boyolali Regency, home to approximately 62,000 dairy cows, faces significant challenges related to the management of cow manure. To address this, the Boyolali Regency Government has introduced biogas digester technology to process cow manure, converting it into biogas for energy and digestate for fertilizer. This study evaluates the effectiveness of training, mentoring, and biogas digesters in enhancing the management of manure. The evaluation involves surveys, pre- and post-tests, and interviews with 160 participants, including 20 digester recipients from 2023 and 2024. Results indicate substantial improvements in participants' knowledge of biogas technology, with increases of 87.83% and 86.27% for 2023 and 2024 recipients, respectively. The study also highlights the environmental, economic, and social impacts of the program, including reduced methane emissions, cost savings, and enhanced soil fertility. Overall, the program has contributed to achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs), particularly in renewable energy, waste management, and sustainable agriculture.
This community service program aimed to enhance environmental awareness and practical skills in plastic waste management among junior high school students in Banraas and Bancamara villages on Gili Iyang Island, Madura. Ecobricks are defined as plastic bottles densely packed with cleaned plastic waste to form durable, reusable building blocks. The training combined lecture-based sessions using fan media to explain the hazards of plastic pollution and introduce the concept and benefits of ecobricks followed by ecobricks practice for students. Pre-posttest revealed that the proportion of students score in the low category decreased from 10 percent to 0 percent, while those achieving high scores increased by 77 percent. Practical engagement was further demonstrated by enthusiastic participation in ecobrick assembly and quiz activities, and production of a simple table from ecobricks. This integrated approach successfully fostered students’ environmental responsibility, creative reuse practices, and community-wide promotion of sustainable waste management.
This community service activity aims to develop strategies for improving service quality through the E-Sikap application at the PT. Endah Manunggal Persada Clinic. The method used in this community service activity is descriptive-qualitative. The results of the patient satisfaction survey in the registration and general examination units indicate that there are two elements that still have lower scores compared to the others, namely the suitability of service products and complaint handling. To address this matter, the management of the PT. Endah Manunggal Persada clinic must consistently uphold their commitment to providing healthcare services that are prompt, accurate, transparent, straightforward, easy to implement, and non-discriminatory.

A thorough understanding of Sumedang's geology is needed to conduct ongoing studies on fault zones, land movement analysis, building risk assessment, infrastructure stability evaluations, and sustainable development initiatives, which will affect the area's infrastructure and settlements' resilience and stability.
Despite persistent attempts to address climate change using open data sources, acceptance rates remain low as benefits are not well understood. This study therefore explores the welfare effects of adopting climate smart agriculture practices on smallholder households using data from 436 households collected using a multistage sampling. The impact was estimated using Endogenous Switching Regression . The estimates also provide evidence that the control group , the non adopter had they adopted could have potential increased their welfare by 224547.3. The analysis shows that participation in use of open data for climate smart agriculture would significantly improve households’ annual income by Kshs. 231,5385.The policy implication is that, households can improve their welfare by adopting open data channels for climate-smart practices. In Indonesia, apples are one of the types of fruit that are widely cultivated and widely consumed as processed foods, such as apple cider vinegar. One of the producers of apple cider vinegar is CV Sinar Tirta Indonesia, which is located in Malang. Apple cider vinegar produces a by-product in the form of apple pulp. Innovation is needed so that apple pulp by-products are not only used for animal feed mixtures that have low selling value. Apple pulp by-products, which consists of pulp and skin that has extraordinary nutrition, makes it very suitable to be processed into useful food. To achieve environmentally friendly product processing, it must be able to change by-products into products with economic value as much as possible, as shown in this community service activity, by changing apple cider vinegar by-products into flour and ingredients for making cookies.
The Doktor Mengabdi Program in Dumajah Village aims to address challenges faced by the Tani Agung farmers group through five key strategies: (1) enhancing farmers' knowledge via extension services and training in good cattle farming practices; (2) increasing feed availability by promoting the cultivation of superior forage such as elephant grass, odot grass, and indigofera; (3) improving feed quality through ammonia treatment of agricultural waste to optimize local resources; and (4) implementing feed management techniques, including flushing and steaming-up for breeding cattle. Program activities include training sessions, forage planting, practical workshops on ammonia-treated feed production, and the adoption of Mini Feedmill technology for Total Mixed Ration (TMR) production. The program results in improved farmer knowledge, enhanced feed quality and availability, and increased livestock productivity, ultimately boosting farmer income and welfare, supported by the establishment of a Mini Feedmill facility.
Focus Group Discussions (FGD), technical guidance, training, mentoring, and evaluation. Training materials cover coffee cultivation based on Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), post-harvest processing, coffee quality and sensory analysis, financial and business management using the Business Model Canvas (BMC), and digital marketing strategies through website creation and QR codes. Results show increased participant understanding, proven by post-test scores. Farmers gained practical knowledge from cultivation to marketing, while coffee enthusiasts improved their capacity in sensory evaluation. The outputs include scientific journals, national seminars, media publications, modules, and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). Overall, the program effectively enhanced the skills and knowledge of coffee stakeholders in the target area, supporting the development of high-quality, market-competitive Malang coffee. This program supports the achievement of SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production).
