This paper introduces the Integrated Port Environmental Process Maturity Model (IPEPMM), a theoretical framework aligning environmental process maturity with measurable performance outcomes in maritime ports. The model synthesizes two previously independent approaches: the Environmental Process Maturity (EPM) ladder, which structures environmental capability development, and the Port Environmental Index (PEI), which quantifies environmental outcomes through standardized indicators. By embedding IoT-enabled data governance and stakeholder legitimization into one cohesive system, IPEPMM bridges the gap between process- -based maturity and evidence-based performance. The framework redefines maturity stages as verifiable managerial commitments, linking capability progression to quantitative environmental improvements. This conceptual integration offers both theoretical advancement and practical guidance for achieving accountable, data-driven environmental management in smart ports while outlining directions for empirical validation and model refinement.
This study aims to assess the stability of the health potential of manuka and goldenrod honeys during storage. The water content in honeys was determined by refractometry, while the total polyphenol content was determined by the Folin-Ciocalteu method, and the antioxidant activities against the DPPH radical and the ABTS cation were determined. These determinations were made before storage and at 4-week intervals during the 16-week storage of the honeys, at 5°C, 20°C, and 30°C. The results were statistically analyzed using Student’s t-test, multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA), and Tukey’s post hoc test. The results showed that manuka honey contained significantly more polyphenolic compounds and had a higher antioxidant capacity than goldenrod honey. Storage-induced changes in health potential occurred more rapidly in goldenrod honey than in manuka honey. The rate of these changes was determined by storage temperature. The slowest rate of decomposition was at 5°C, and the fastest at 30°C. Therefore, it can be concluded, that the most favorable temperature for storing opened honey packages is 5°C.
The beginnings of nanotechnology date back to 1959, when Richard Feynman gave his famous lecture that has inspired many scientists. The development of methods of obtaining results (top-down and bottom-up) over the following years has meant that a multitude of nanometric structures are now known, and knowledge about their properties and application possibilities is also broader. Today, cosmetics manufacturers choose nanostructures for several reasons, namely: penetration through the skin, targeted delivery of active ingredients, achieving stability, and obtaining new color elements. This article is a review of the latest knowledge about the properties of nanostructures and their application potential for cosmetic formulations.
The finite 1-bullet silent duel is considered, involving two duelists who shoot with exponentially-convex accuracy through a uniformly quantized time. The duel is a symmetric matrix game whose optimal value is 0, and each of the duelists has the same optimal behavior, whether it is in pure or mixed strategies. The actual beginning is never optimal in the duel. Apart from the very end of the duel, the conditions for the optimal time moment existence are found. Numerical experiments confirm that the optimality can be manipulated by changing the accuracy factor that scales the payoffs. The results are applicable in systems under limited or censored communication with uncertainty, latency, and lucrative delayed actions. Some examples of such set-ups are time-sensitive information release (privacy and censorship), queueing and load balancing (information science and telecommunication systems), and block proposal timing for decentralized consensus protocols (in Proof-of-Work and Proof-of-Stake).

In this work we describe in detail our novel computation method for predicting the EACN hydrophobicity parameter of hydrophobic compounds, which is used in the HLD equation developed by Salager. The values of EACN obtained in such a way can be applied to predict the phase equilibria in emulsions or microemulsions as well as various physicochemical properties describing these systems by means of the HLD-NAC theory. Application of the HLD-NAC theory as a predictive tool for excipients used in cosmetic or pharmaceutical products may enable the rational design of new products based on emulsions or microemulsions, eliminating in practice the need for many problem-solving efforts and long-term product development. The computed values of the EACN were compared with the experimental data published in the literature for 141 hydrophobic compounds. We have found that the computation method described in this work applied to various hydrophobic compounds leads to the numerical values of the EACN being in a very good agreement with the corresponding experimental values published in the literature. It should be noted, however, that the proposed method is not suitable for predicting EACN values of triglycerides and edible oils.
