There are the most high vulnerable disasters to children in times of disaster victims in Indonesia. A child is someone having no 18 years old yet; including those still having in the mothers’ womb and those unmarried ones. The United National Treaty, a Convention on the Right of Children Retrieved 2009 every child has the seven rights, one of which is that to the fulfillment of all requirements including safety needs of the disaster and rights protection. On the other side of the Convention on the rights of children, it must uphold the rights of children and the survival of the principle of non-discrimination. Disaster management of child protection in this article is a concept of planning and maket which are easily applied consisting of: 1) preventive planning by describing the potential environmental hazard; the potential for serious harm to the child who starts from the learning to the prevention, giving the preparedness of the child in facing catastrophic events, Management of mitigation is readily accepted by the children and can be done or undertaken by the organized children with the plot to the prevention, preparedness and emergency response of each child, Recovery and rehabilitation of children at all age levels with a variety of directions to minimize the crisis they encounter are realized within the framework of post-disaster rehabilitation and reconstruction easily to do, fun without any pressure. This article is devoted to the children under normal conditions, meaning that any knowledge, experience and skills contained in this article do not apply to children with special needs.
Development Financial Institutions (DFIs) play an important roles in Malaysian economy. As a bank which been appointed prescribed under Development Financial Institutions Act (DFIA) 2002, Malaysian DFIs have to proceed its banking operation and concurrently carrying a mandate given by the government striving for socio-economic development. The DFIs advancement towards full-fledged Islamic entity and the mandate that they have carried out in promoting the public interest, leads to the research on reviewing the Malaysian DFIs performance direction setting. All six DFIs which prescribed under DFIA 2002 been taken as a scope of study. The content of vision and mission statement of the DFIs are analysed and classified into the Performance Measures based on Maqasid al-Shari’ah (PMMS) model. The objectives of the study are (1) to identify whether Malaysian DFIs currently have fully covered all three concepts and nine dimensions of Maqasid-al Shari’ah and (2) to analyze which concept and dimension have the most concentration. The result of the study could be as a reference for DFIs’ future direction setting in striving the mandate given in promotiong socio-economic development and at the same time fulfilling the Maqasid al-Shari’ah and been recognized as full-fledged Islamic financial institutions.
Techniques such as interview and natural language elicitation are widely used for needs analysis, particularly in the modelling of software in Borneo. However, these approaches are often inadequate as they are subject to biases in interpretation by either the knowledge engineer or subject experts. Natural language specification tends to be overly flexible. It is also subjected to the perception and interpretation of the reader and writer. On the other hand, the interview process is always influenced by IT experts’ perception. Understanding requirements is an important study for ICT4D as most existing software has been targeted for a larger audience. This subjective approach is however, error-prone and could even lead to a failure of projects. We introduce an alternative approach to elicit the requirement of the rural community in Borneo through an agent-oriented models, AOM. AOM presents the requirements at a higher level of abstraction and supports social engagement across various stakeholders. We introduce process, models as well as a detail case study on training the trainer programme (ICT for transformation) in Bario, Sarawak. The models have provided insights into community needs and thus facilitating the design of IT training program that addresses their concerns.
This work represents the implementation and architecture of a system that helps the visually impaired people (VIPs) to navigate to their desired location. The system is designed with RFID tag and voice communication along with obstacle avoidance for the purpose of guiding visually impaired people. The visually impaired people issues the command through a Braille keypad (supermarkets, medicals, hospitals and stores) and receives the direction response by using a RFID tag as an audio message. Supersonic sensor is used to detect an obstacle to avoid collision in their surroundings by sending an audio message. ZigBee protocol is also used to intimate the VIPs about the traffic signals in order to avoid accidents. With the advancement in voice communication it becomes easier to issue commands regarding directions to the visually impaired people. In future it can be implemented with GPS for long distance navigation.
Remote sensing images reveal valuable and sensitive information. The applications of satellite image processing are uncountable. Without classification of any satellite image, it is not possible to interpret into useful information. Different classification methods exist in optical remote sensing, microwave remote sensing, hyper-spectral, lidar, etc. Classification models like support vector machine method, k-means method, k-nearest neighbor method, maximum likely hood method, neural network method, fuzzy logic method, random forest method, etc. are used models in the satellite image classification. The number of classes in the optical image processing or multispectral image processing depends on the usage of the data, software used to simulate the data, processor used to classify the data, etc. The validation process is mandatory to crosscheck the classified result with ground points. More number of ground points gives a better result of a classification. Validation of classified image with ground truth says about the relevance of the points that leads to form a confusion matrix.
Background/Objectives: This study designed a model that used the sandwich-style notched tensile specimens of the same specifications by applying to the properties of CFRP, stainless steel, and aluminum, and performed a test simulation. Methods/Statistical analysis: The study used CATIA design software to perform the 3D modeling of the sandwich-style notched tensile specimens with the properties of CFRP, a composite material, and stainless steel and aluminum, both ordinary metals, and then, performed a tensile test simulation. Findings: By designing the sandwich-style notched tensile specimens of the same specifications and performing a test simulation, we were able to verify the tensile strength and durability of the specimens for the different materials. This study result showed that unlike the specimens for the ordinary metals, those specimens with the properties of the composite material of CFRP first showed maximum load instead of breaking immediately due to the fibers in CFRP, before they resisted displacement in response to the alternately increasing and decreasing load until it fractured. To be specific, we saw that the CFRP specimens had the more excellent tensile strength and durability. Improvements/Applications: The data obtained from the studies will serve as the basic data for studies on the composite materials like CFRP and other various materials.
With the recent increase in the use of lighting energy in the building sector and as skyscrapers are developed with glass envelopes, research on reducing lighting energy consumption by introducing natural light into the building is increasing. However, natural lighting systems have limited lighting energy reduction efficiency in buildings due to the application of operating technologies in order to reduce the lighting energy and improve the lighting performance. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to propose a double-skin facade for reducing lighting energy by using prism sheets, and to verify its effectiveness through the performance evaluation using a full-scale testbed. The conclusion is as follows. 1) This study derived the optimal variables for the double-skin without prism sheets (Case 1), double-skin with prism sheets on the outer skin of the cavity (Case 2), and the double-skin with prism sheets on the inner skin of the cavity (Case 3). 2) With the optimal variables, Case 3 was able to reduce lighting energy by 25.93% and 1.24%, respectively, compared to Case 1 and Case 2. By using the diffusion principle of the refraction of prisms sheets, the lighting energy reduction and the lighting performance were improved compared to the conventional double-skin. In addition, considering the reduction of lighting energy, the efficiency is considered to be higher than the conventional double skin. 3) Based on the optimal attachment angle of the prism sheet derived for each case, Case 3 was able to improve the uniformity by 68.94% and 2.26% in summer, and 55.0% and 6.90% in the mid-season, respectively, compared to Case 1 and Case 2. However, as the application of prism sheets reduces the uniformity in winter, it is preferable to remove the prism sheets during winter. This problem can be resolved by attaching and detaching the prism sheets or by using a double-skin window with blinds made of prism sheet material.
Abstract – This paper proposes a novel power line communication system utilizing minimum cables. Conventionally, more number of cables is used to transmit data and power. This leads to increasing the cost, complexity in design and connections, maintenance issues and high man power. In order to avoid these drawbacks, the power line communications system is proposed to transmit the data through the existing power line cables by impressing a modulated carrier signal. The proposed power line communication system is divided into two blocks in design say Transmitter design and Receiver design. At the transmitter side, the data is encoded by using Manchester encoding scheme preceded by Frequency shift keying modulation.Similarly, at the receiver side, the process of demodulation and decoding are used for the retrieval of the original data. In this paper, the STM8 Microcontroller is utilized for the real time validation of the proposed power line communication system design.

The conversion of light energy into electrical energy has extensively increasing because it offers less pollution and its wide availability. Maintaining the constant DC output power from the panel is the key issue in solar PV system. Solar irradiation and temperature of the solar cells are the two factors effects the output of the PV modules, in the proposed converter. To get better conversion gain ratio the Switched Inductor/Capacitor Branch is replacing the existing inductor in the conventional boost converter. The conduction loss can be lessened by adopting the switch with low resistance. In addition, the reverse-recovery issue of the diodes is eliminated, and thus, the efficiency can be further improved. In this paper, Perturb and Observe (P&O) algorithm is used along with proposed boost converter to track the MPPT from the solar cell and to improve the DC output by providing suitable duty cycle. The number of components used in converter has been reduced and converter efficiency is improved. The proposed work is verified through MATLAB/SIMULINK.
Tablet computer stores as tablet sales continue to keep pace with technology to meet the needs of consumers of tablet computer buyers, where consumers generally always have considerations or factors before taking a decision on a pur-chase, for example price, brand, screen size , memory, hard drive, or features present on the tablet computer and other factors. The aim of this study is to investigate current government measures to encourage Building Energy Efficiency (“BEE”) development in Indonesia. This study compiles and analyzes business models and financing options for retrofitting financing of BEE in Indonesia: establishing a framework for a critical comparative study, compare and assess the BEE government measures availability, and survey the customers’ expectation of BEE measures. This study looks at the favorable measures that the Indonesian Government could take, and triangulate the findings of the comparative study and questionnaire survey to develop recommendations for BEE measures in Indonesia. It was found that the lack of economic incentives, diverse business models, and limited financing options might be the most prominent problems of the BEE promotion at the current stage in Indonesia. Un-consolidated policy among legislations is hampering the efforts of any BEE promotion. Tax incentives are likely to be more viable and efficient option for most of the Indonesian company, as well as active government interventions to promote BEE development. Illustrating the findings and regulatory analyses, as well as in-depth interviews with business representatives, this study identified several types of business models and some favorable financing option.
Electricity plays a vital role in our daily routine activities. Particularly, educational institution power requirements may vary every day and the infrastructure of the building determines the amount of power required for a day. Hence advance prediction of power for every building in a university is very important for effective management of electricity during power crisis. In this paper, prediction of power consumption of each building in a university is carried out based on the infrastructure of a building. Feature engineering is carried out using ClassifierAttributeEval. This helps in reducing the size of the dataset as well as the computation time of prediction models. To forecast the energy production and usage in advance, Support Vector Machine (SVM), Neural Network (NN), Random Forest (RF) and Stochastic Gradient Descent (SGD) models are applied. From the experimental results and 10-fold cross validation sampling type , it is proved that SGD has better prediction accuracy when compared to SVM, NN and RF with Mean Square Error (MSE) of 1.102 , Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) of 1.050, Mean Absolute Error (MAE) of 0.613 and Coefficient of determination (R2) of 1.0000.
