The shift towards a low-carbon society relies on electrifying Renewable Energy Sources (RES). Energy projects have led to an increase in social divisiveness in certain countries. Hence, worldwide, governmental, and legislative entities - local, geographic, national, and global - exhibit significant apprehension over the environmental consequences and risk elements that shape the energy paradigms. Therefore, to mitigate and restrict the problems related to environmental insecurity, the globe must take prompt and efficient measures to safeguard the climate for a more promising future. It must actively seek alternate energy options while decreasing its reliance on petroleum-based energy sources. In light of this pressing matter, this research aims to showcase the capabilities of several RES, such as wind, solar, hydroelectric, and biomass. The research briefly summarizes energy-related issues and prospects, followed by a comparative analysis of RES and non-RES. A comprehensive overview of several Sustainable Energy Sources (SES), such as wind, solar, hydroelectricity, and biomass, is provided, accompanied by pertinent illustrations and statistical data on the global energy potential of each source. The paper addresses risk factors, offers closing observations, and presents future guidance in its final sections.
Energy Efficiency (EE) is a crucial resource for social and financial development, benefiting everyone through EE developers in society. Encouraging energy problem alignment with corporate company goals increases productivity, profitability, quality, and cost reductions. EE is an essential benefit for organizations, not merely a minor concern. Most companies, particularly Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), need help adopting EE measures and even encounter opposition. Funding and awareness (particularly of life cycle cost impacts) are the biggest obstacles. One way weaker organizations might overcome such constraints and improve EE is from the Supply Chain (SC) perspective. Since most EE studies and practical strategies concentrate on single-firm energy usage, this article examines peer-reviewed journal articles on EE incorporation in SC development and oversight to identify research needs. Several literature evaluations have focused on sustainability or Supply Chain Management (SCM), but none have addressed EE. First, this article explains how energy usage in SCM improves systemic EE. Then, a study technique is developed, and the selected publications are examined and classed by their methodologies.
University social responsibility refers to the policies of continuous improvement of institutions aimed at greater community development from a holistic and sustainable perspective. The objective was to describe the current state of scientific production on university social responsibility in the Latin American context during the period 2000-2022. The study was a bibliometric, descriptive and retrospective study of scientific production in Scopus. A total of 117 documents were found where there was a predominance of the original article type of document, representing 83.76% of the total number of documents. It was found that the countries of Colombia and Peru had the highest scientific production with 23.93% and 17.95% respectively. Likewise, it was identified that from the year 2019 there was a growing trend in publications. There was international collaboration between authors who published in the Latin American context. The findings allow identifying that scientific production on university social responsibility is linked to ethical commitments and university student training, sustainable development and university social responsibility from an educational management approach.
Environmental education has emerged as a strategy to provide solutions to the climate crisis affecting the world, in order to stimulate the development of environmental awareness and promote ecological habits and environmental conservation. In this context, a research was carried out with the objective of determining the influence of environmental conservation and ecological habits on environmental awareness in a sample of 92 high school students of the Alipio Ponce Educational Institution in the Tambopata region - Madre de Dios. The study adopted a basic, non-experimental, cross-sectional and causal correlational design. Three questionnaires were applied to assess the variables environmental conservation, ecological habits and environmental awareness. For each, three dimensions were assessed. The results showed that the variables ecological habits and environmental conservation influence the development of environmental awareness. It is concluded that students are motivated and willing to address environmental issues, but with regular knowledge, which may have a negative impact on the development of pro-environmental attitudes. It is recommended to implement pedagogical strategies that articulate theory with practice reflected in daily situations.
The Republic of Karakalpakstan, situated on an island's coast, grapples with an enduring shortage of irrigation water that wreaks havoc on its national economy and agricultural productivity year after year. In response to this pressing challenge, the adoption of hydrogels as a technology for moisture retention emerges as a dependable solution. Hydrogels, renowned for their capacity to absorb and retain water within their structure, offer a promising avenue to mitigate the adverse effects of water scarcity in Karakalpakstan. By integrating hydrogels into soil or irrigation systems, moisture can be efficiently captured and stored, significantly reducing losses due to evaporation and ensuring a consistent supply of water to plant roots.
