Accuracy of AD conversion can be improved using correction of ADC non-linearity. An application of the analytical inverse function of INL(n) curve (except other possibilities) can be used. The application of this method is dependent on the possibility to derive the inverse function to the function approximating the INL(n) curve. The first achieved result was published in [4]. The results of further simulations, which take into account also additive noise, jitter in sampling, non-zero sampled signal phase and hysteretic behavior of the ADC, are published in this paper.
This paper deals with the assessment and comparison of efficacy and colorimetric parameters of white light sources combined of different color LEDs. The main attention is paid to light sources made of separate red, green, blue and red, amber, green, blue LEDs in comparison with white LEDs. Theoretical calculations are compared with obtained experimental data. Proportions of necessary color LED number and intensities are calculated to obtain different blackbody radiator color temperatures and efficacy at these points.
Actual power systems are evolving towards the Smart Grid concept. Being buildings part of the grid, and considering their distributed generation and controllable demand capabilities, they are becoming key players in the framework of liberalized electricity markets. New integrated smart homes and buildings will contribute to the protection of the earth environment while reducing their operational costs. They will take into account not only technical issues of their integrated sub-systems but also users requirements. In order to fulfil these goals an accurate building model could be considered using a standard-based communication infrastructure, linking all buildings elements (physical and human) and allowing buildings to become an active part of the smart grid itself.
This article presents a new method for Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR) reduction of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) signal. The proposed method is based on a relatively simple processing - pre-scrambling of OFDM symbol bit-block. The modified m-sequence with the least peak-factor for scrambling is used. The stability of pre-scrambled OFDM signal to the clipping is examined as well. C/C++ computer simulation of OFDM system with 64 subcarriers and frequency domain block-typepilot channel estimation is performed for AWGN multipath channel. As a result, bit error rate (BER) performance for various clipping levels is presented due to computer simulation. In addition, the Efficiency of joined pre-scrambling and clipping method is considered.
The aim of the study was to develop a statistical model suitable for the estimation of creatinine concentration removed during dialysis through UV-absorbance. Ten uremic patients, three females and seven males, mean age 62.6 ± 18.6 years, on chronic thrice-weekly hemodialysis were included in the study. Double-beam spectrophotometer (Shimatsu UV-2401 PC, Japan) was used for the determination of UV-absorbance in the collected spent dialysate samples. Due to differences in independent variables included two multiwavelength models were developed using stepwise regression. The coefficient of determination, R 2 was 0.8709 for the first and 0.8756 for the second model. The standard errors were 15.86 micromol/l and 16.01 micromol/l, respectively. In summary, the creatinine concentration removed during dialysis can be estimated with UV-absorbance technique.
