This paper presents a broadband circularly polarized (CP) magnetoelectric (ME) dipole antenna array for gain enhancement. By adopting corner truncation, slot etching, and loading rectangular and elliptical perturbation structures on the radiation patches, CP characteristics are achieved. Additionally, a via-coupled dual-patch design is employed to effectively extend the axial ratio bandwidth (ARBW) and improve antenna gain. Based on this design, a 2 & times; 2 parallel-fed antenna array was fabricated and measured. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed array achieves an impedance bandwidth (IBW) of 39.4% and an ARBW of 34.3%. Within the overlapping bandwidth (BW), the gain exceeds 12.3 dBic with a peak gain of 13.5 dBic, the radiation efficiency remains above 81%, and the cross-polarization level is consistently below -20 dB. Different from conventional single perturbation or single-layer CP ME dipole designs, the proposed antenna adopts composite corner truncation-slot etching and rectangular-elliptical dual perturbation, together with a via-coupled dual-patch structure, which effectively broadens the ARBW and enhances high-frequency gain. The antenna array exhibits significant advantages in terms of wide ARBW and high gain, making it a promising candidate for millimeter-wave (mmW) communication systems such as 5 G base stations and satellite ground terminals.
