Aim of this paper is to analyze risks for private household owners related to investing in solar thermal systems for water heating. A risk analysis model is constructed to include qualitative and quantitative risk analysis. Input and output variables of the model are determined and Monte Carlo method used to calculate probability distributions of selected project parameters. Sensitivity analysis of output variables is also presented.
This paper discusses the development of model sensorless vector control of induction machine used in wind turbine application. The paper presents preliminary results. Instead of wind turbine, induction machine equipped with a frequency converter is used to simulate wind behaviour. In order to estimate the shaft speed of the induction machine model reference adaptive system (MRAS observer) is used. It is shown that parameters mismatch, at most rotor winding resistance has a great influence on speed estimation using MRAS. Simulation results were carried out in Matlab Simulink At the end the experimental are shown in order to verify the results obtained by the computer simulation.
MaD-WiSe is a wireless sensor network database designed to perform in-network distributed query processing and to manage acquired data. This paper briefly presents the MaD-WiSe system and its query processing model based on data streams. Then, it focuses on the MaD-WiSe graphical user interface, which supports query definition and injection and query results collection
Design methodologies such as multidisciplinary design optimisation and robust design often involve variation of object's shape and assessment of the resulting performance. This paper presents methodology to incorporate shape variability in the optimisation process. Results of the shape optimisation of the gas-turbine disc of the aircraft engine show higher levels of product quality and reliability achieved
In the paper, use of computers for visualization and analysis of relations between the quantities in polyphase systems is described. By means of dedicated software, computer-aided visualization is used to build the learning environment in which a qualitative approach to the learning process is emphasized. This can facilitate the understanding of relations between the relevant quantities, as well as the creation of correct conceptual models.
